Can confirm that. Tom very patiently and politely answered an obvious (as it turned out) question for me. Felt a bit silly but that's impressive service and commitment to customers (as well as the plug-ins, all v impressive and easy to use).

Awesome video! And FYI, if you want to focus in on a narrower frequency range using Soothe you can increase the dB/octave slope of the high cut and low cut bands 🤓

Great video. Thank you so much. Gonna get RESO for sure now! Dev's should actually make more videos showcasing their plugins, it unveils so much, many KZbinrs either forget or don't know..

Love this tool. Looks like this video was done in mono. That's weird but OK. Still like the tips. Thanks

You're correct. The video was done over a Zoom call to capture the audio and the recording was in mono even though Tom was broadcasting his DAW audio using the Zoom stereo audio feature. Not sure what happened there. I need to look deeper into Zoom's recording features to see if stereo recording is possible.

I’ve been looking for a bundle of mixing and mastering stuff for my home studio. I came across them when I didn’t want to pay 200 bucks for soothe 2. Looking forward to using these

Congratulations on the video! I call myself an advanced hobbyist and the automatic resonance search feature is very important to me, it's one of the reasons why I bought RESO, but I have this doubt (also reported in several forums talking about RESO): the plugin analyzes a few seconds of music to find resonances (I could almost call it "static" from this point of view), but by definition a song can vary a lot over time (for example in the chorus I might have more instruments than in the verse), this means that the nodes found in one part of the song might not be valid for another part of the song (or other resonances might arise in other parts of the song), how do you solve this problem? I currently use multiple instances of RESO, for different parts of the song, but this approach is very wasteful. One solution might be to have the plugin listen to the whole song and not just a few seconds, but I do not know if this functionality is provided. Would you have any suggestions? Thank you and congratulations again for the video!

You're most welcome for the video. Aha. I had this exact same question. This was asked and answered later in the video.. Tune in to this timestamp: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKSwkJ6cZd9sjpI. Cheers!

@@warpacademy Thanks for the response, I had missed this last part of the video. This is the strength and weakness of RESO: it is more controllable than, for example, SOOTHE, but not being a "dynamic" plugin it requires the use of multiple instances, which is very inconvenient.

I hear you on that. Which is why I imagine Tom still said he uses Soothe as well as RESO.

I thought RESO had a automatic search and destroy feature built in, or was I thinking of since other plugin?
@warpacademy
@warpacademy 11 ай бұрын
It certainly does. You see it later in the video. You click "calculate targets" then "engage targets". Watch all the examples and you'll see Tom do that in a later example. Cheers!

If I have Gulfoss, Trackspacer and Smooth Operator and ProQ3 which plugin would complement these, would it be Fuser Or Reso?
@warpacademy
@warpacademy 6 ай бұрын
I would say RESO would be a good compliment. Trackspacer can perform similarly to FUSER, but it lacks the phase alignment tool which I think is stellar in FUSER. Really, I'd add both if you want the phase aligment. Otherwise Trackspacer can work well in that regard. Gulfoss doesn't have the ability to duck in mid vs side as far as I know.
@Rio-uv1gs

@@warpacademy I ended up getting a fuser because proq3 has a similar feature as Reso
@warpacademy
@warpacademy 6 ай бұрын
Right on. Yes, Pro-Q3 can function like RESO, it just doesn't do it automatically and requires a manual set up. But both are effective. Cheers!
