Someone I loved very much was born in Seaham many years ago. I’ve been to visit him many times when he lived in Tynemouth, just a few miles north in North Shields. Im from the states, too, so it’s interesting to me to find someone who even knows about Seaham. I never knew about sea glass. Hopefully I can travel again and visit the beaches there. I would fly in to Newcastle and rent a car and drive south. Thanks for this video!

I was born and grew up in Seaham. The harbour beach was know as the Old Beach by the locals and was the best place for Sea glass back in the 70’s( when no one wanted it). I camped out there with a friend one night the waves literally came right up to our tent luckily it was a neap tide! We collected about 6 bucket fulls of glass in a couple of hours. We were after mainly red, white and black so ignored the green blue, purple and multi! Made a five foot square mosaic of the local football club emblem on the top of the beach . It lasted for two days then disappeared completely! If only I had known then I could have collected tons of it and be a rich man now!

Someone I knew and loved was born in Seaham. It’s interesting to know of someone who even knows where Seaham is. I’m from the states too and have visited that area of England many times in the last 10 years. I would fly into Newcastle and drive to Tynemouth and North Shields, where I have such fond memories.
