People have been using "smh" since 8 years ago!?!? I am baffled because i have just stumbled upon that abbreviation 2 years ago. I thought it was a new thing made by the younger generation. Apparently, i live under a rock😅

what about numbers like 8.01 or 91.50?
@armvndoe60268 жыл бұрын
you have three significant figures since the zero is behind the decimal point
@gman711578 жыл бұрын
I think he means zeroes that are trailing or leading all all of the other numbers, so with something like 8.01 the rules would not apple to the zero between 8 and 1.......this i think falls under the third rule......just speculating, dont take my word for it!!

If the decimal point is understood but not written (i.e. the 1,200 vs 1,200.00), then is the # of sig figs still 2, or is it 4?

5 sig figs. => 0.842836 You only apply the sig figs rule when you get the final total. (after you divide 170.14/201.979)
