What are the differences? I'm currently on a 2019 s-works stumpy 29er
@punisher9oneone3 жыл бұрын
@@meganNefarious for me, my stumpy was very plush (alloy comp) it absorbed everything and was great for technical downhills as the tires never left the ground. the evil is quite the opposite, it prefers to be airborne. it can and will jump off anything. I have a Ripmo v1. It pedals amazing and gives you very quick response. I was concerned with it not having enough rear travel, but I've ridden it at the Bike parks and really rowdy stuff and it just works so well. The shorter wheel base gives it a more playful feel. For only having 145 in the rear, it is amazing.

I bought the Sight A3 in December and love the bike! I only had a couple chances to ride here in north Idaho (actually at Beacon Hill in Spokane) but the slack headtube angle and 29" wheels already saved my bacon over some sketchy parts of some trails. Very smooth and the build you were looking at would be awesome! I am an intermediate rider and only about a year of singletrack on a fatty hardtail but I am a fan of the Norco. It climbs pretty well. too.

Definitely go for the ibis ripmo, I have one and out of every bike I have ever owned, it has outperformed a every bike I have ever ridden
@jaredgulaga83673 жыл бұрын
I personally think that the Evil Wreckoning is the clear choice here, that along with the Nomad, and the Sight. Delta is amazing as are the shorter chainstays. I owned a sight for this past season before switching to a Yeti-SB150 and can't say enough good things about it. It's also worth noting that you can throw a 170mm fork and install a longer stroke shock 55-57.5 on the sight if you were to desire more travel.
@bigslacker6663 жыл бұрын
I would vote for the Wreckoning. I have a Following MB and an Offering. The older model you looked at, same color with X01 and 160 Lyrik. I've also recently had an Ibis HD4 to compared to. Evil's rear suspension has an amazing feel and all of their bikes have built in fun factor. I grew up on BMX too and love the playful feel! The stuff you ride warrants the big version, but the Offering is also very capable with a 160 fork and punches above it's weight. Good luck with whatever you go with!

Choices, choices, all good ones! At least your LBS has all of those bikes available! I have a V1 Ripmo, and love it. I lengthened the fork to 170mm, put a negative 1.5 degree angle headset in, it rocks! I live in Asheville, NC. Works great for my local trails and bike parks. If I were to choose one of those in your video, it would either be the Knolly Chilcotin, or the Santa Cruz Nomad. Probably the Nomad, with a Cascade Components LT link, and Fox 38 with a 180mm air spring. It would rip!!

I think we all saw your new bike on Loam Ranger's video yesterday, unless that was a demo ;) Part of me would also think, throw a good coil shock and Fox 38 or Zeb at the Enduro and it will be outperforming most of this list. Of what is on that list, I think the Altitude would probably suit what Nick rides the most, the bit more nimble handling vs the freeride bikes helps on North Shore stuff, but still has the travel to take the big hits. I own a Ripmo myself, it's a great bike, but I think it would be a little undergunned on the North Shore, the DVO suspension is absolutely amazing though.

Late to the party. Thanks for the great reviews. What you said about the Knolly's suspension feel... I completely agree. Even my smaller Endorphin feels like a smaller version of my DH rigs perfectly damped suspension. Its so controlled and confidence inspiring. Not sure how much the coil out back contributes to that feel. Only one small issue with Knolly bikes... The frames are a bit hefty - but the ride, well its second to none. Thanks again. Oh, and on a completely separate note, Santa Cruz should offer that Oxblood red color on every model.
