BLESS YOUR SOUL!!!! i take IB math studies and my teacher doesn't do any teaching. the class is pure tests with him assuming that we've learnt everything when I've never seen this in my life. I've spent an hour trying to learn this and i finally clicked on your video and you made it SOOOO easy and understandable!! Thanks!! you saved my grade.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback! I'm really stoked this helped you. I'm sorry I haven't uploaded more videos. I need to start back up. Where are you doing the IB (Country)?

Thank you sooooo much. I couldn't understand where the -1/2 part came from. Now it makes so much sense.

Very helpful, thank you so much for this video, I completely forgot how to find a normal equation and needed a refresher, this was just perfectly explained, well-paced, and just my style. You explained everything in every step so I didn't get lost at any point. I take Math SL in IB and I think you should do a lot more videos based on that curricula, it would be so helpful! Thank you again!

A straight line y=-x+4 cuts the parabola with equation y=16-x^2 at the points A and B. a.Find the coordinates of A and B b.Calculate the distance between the points A and B c.Find the equation of the tangents at A and B, and hence determine where the tangents meet. d.At the point where A and B meet, the line Q is perpendicular to the line B. find the equation of the line at Q

sir. Why you substitute ta x to get the slope 2? It isn't understandable that the slope is the coefficient before x?
@PlaysDivine4 жыл бұрын
Isn't it because the slope of the parabola changes depending on x?

fantastically good
@erickgaray4634 жыл бұрын
So in order to leave it in general form I must start from the point slope form and move my terms around to leave x positive? Or can I multiply my point slope to get my slope intercept form and then move x to the other side to make it positive? Will it be the same answer or are they different?
@erickgaray4634 жыл бұрын
I got my slope intercept form as -1/2x+3/2 then moved it over to get 1/2x+y-3/2 as my final answer in general form...is this correct?

plz make a video on vertical line test and also on how to shift it
@easymath_7 жыл бұрын
By vertical line test, are you referring to determining whether a relation (or graph) is a function? By "how to shift it", do you want me to show you a general guide for shifting any graph? Do you have any specific types of graphs that you're unsure about?

What if there are no given points in a word problem? Does that mean its point is at (0,0) ?
@brittonlemere54864 жыл бұрын
Suba Rashi this may be a late reply but; if there's no given point, you're just solving for the equation of the tangent line (aka first derivative of original function), and if asked: the normal line (aka first derivative of original function with inverted slope) By inverted slope I mean if the slope is 2x, your inverse slope is -1/2 x, the constant in front of your variable gets put under 1 and it's sign (positive or negative) is swapped.

Why did you flip the gradient of tangent to get the gradient of normal line??
@OninabResources4 жыл бұрын
Since the tangent and the normal are perpendicular to each other, the product of their gradient is negative one. If you know the gradient of tangent, the gradient of the normal is the negative reciprocal of the gradient of the tangent.
