What about medical field?
@varunv20883 жыл бұрын
I think this graph holds true in the medical field too. 20 years ago, people were sceptical of robotic surgeries. Now, we know that they're less invasive, have lower recovery time, etc. People prefer robotic surgeries(unless not constrained by their insurance policy or their financial situation) when compared to surgery by hand. Associated careers with this technology would probably be the engineering associated creation of parts, software developers (AR/VR, AI), technicians and surgeons who know how to operate. Probably 20 years later when robotic surgery is more common, scope for these careers might reduce when compared to now. A similar analogy could be drawn about DNA in forensics (when compared to the time mostly fingerprint was considered for investigations, but now I can be traced down if the DNA sequence of even my 3rd cousin is matched with DNA sequence at the crime scene), stem cell transplant. I understand where you're coming from though. Treatment for common flu is more or less the same when compared to a long time ago. People undergo dialysis just like they used to 20 years ago when they had renal failure. It's rarer for new research/invention/discovery to completely disrupt the way things are happening when it comes to the medical field. The trust factor required in the medical field is higher cause low performances are taken more seriously and hence they're adopted slower unless they're absolutely necessary (covid).

@VarunMayya3 жыл бұрын
IMO still ignored
@varunv20883 жыл бұрын
I believe(and hope) it's in the ignored/early adopter stage. I don't see much openings regarding Eth dev. Bitcoin is more popular than Eth. There are no famous general-purpose decentralized websites. I personally see a lot of potential though (you can refer How Finland is Using the Blockchain to Revolutionise Financial Services for Refugees) and you must be probably aware of Blockchain applications in supply-chain, fintech. I believe(and hope) this scope will expand in the future. If we consider it to be at its peak right now, I think it can also be considered as a failed and hyped technology. According to me, it's very less likely that this is true.
