When ali asked Lana why she thinks she became so successful, I thought about pretty privilege. Lana is talented, her videos are polished and she has a soothing voice, but I also think she benefited from the KZbin algorithm because of how beautiful she looks in her thumbnails
@Perfectliliies Жыл бұрын
She’s a hardworking and smart woman just because she happens to be pretty doesn’t mean that removes her other qualities there’s a lot more prettier people than her and they haven’t done half of what she did … beauty is not everything pls wake up
@fireflythinking1290 Жыл бұрын
@@Perfectliliies Of course it's not everything. I'm just saying maybe it's the cherry on top that might have helped boost her channel in the algorithm ? But it's just a theory I thought about. We don't know what the algorithm favours exactly, but it it's possible it involves physical traits 🤷♀️
@samihakhondoker2456 Жыл бұрын
She is one of the prettiest woman that talks about deep topics. Those who were searching up those topics found her at the top of the KZbin list. Don't blame people she speaks so calm and yeah gotta agree with some stuff she says.
@mr.snulch2 ай бұрын
Oh of course. She's super talented, hard-working, and authentic but the fact that she's able to look drop-dead gorgeous in her thumbnails definitely helps. To deny that is to lie to yourself. Nothing wrong with being talented and attractive.

There´s definitely a point where one is like "I just do what I feel like doing" but I think It only comes after some time of discipline and changing your base habits. Because now you have the certainty that "whatever you feel like doing" will be good for you.

"...Perfectionism can delay a lot of things in life." When your guest said that, I laughed. Truer words have never been spoken on here... but life itself is a work in progress, so 🤷. Excellent episode 👏 👌

Kinda funny that this is now a thing, because I basically lived my life away from frantic, hectic people. My mum used to yell at me as a teenager that I should hurry up, and I just answered to her: I don’t have time to hurry. Which is basically a quote from Igor Strawinski, meaning that being hectic and hurrying causes more errors and frantically running around takes extra time, whereas when you stay in your calm, you don’t become headless and forget things, and worse break or mess up things. We also have a saying here, which could be translated to “In tranquility lies the key to strength.” or maybe “Slow and steady wins the race.” 😊

The bit of the convo that focused on how getting through a heavy to-do list can be done without the need to feel like you have to be stressed to do so was SO needed! Up until hearing that I’d spent the last week in the default ‘pull-hair-out’ mode trying to get through uni, and then realised I was only feeling that because on some unconscious level I thought it necessary, as if that’s the only way to get through it all!! What nonsense 😂 it seems so obvious but sometimes you just need to hear it 😅 Feeling very re-aligned right now 👌🏼

there are so many things I like about this podcast that I will definitely come back to it once again in some time. I like that it turned from an interview to conversation of friends. And that's what helped me to see PEOPLE, not some super-humans. I'm an introvert and a slow talker, which irritates a lot of people. This podcast strengthened my certainty that everything is ok with me and I can achieve everything I want with being myself, not trying to imitate another personality.

Loved this interview! 😀 Big fan of you both. Wow, Lana went full-time on KZbin with just 7k subs making less than $1 a day? (3:39) I am one of those that needed to hear your parting words of wisdom, Lana (1:49:39): _"I don’t like seeing people waste their potential. That’s one of my pet peeves. I want people to try the thing that they’re thinking about. If that’s starting a channel, or changing your major, or moving out. Whatever it is that’s this itch that you have in your body and in your mind. I can’t get this thing out of my mind. This is your sign to try and go for it and see what happens.”_ I have that itch...I have already started a channel but I'm at a crossroads. And going full-time on KZbin is one of the options I'm considering. I haven't made up my mind yet, and I will continue to create videos regardless of what choice I end up making. But this interview was inspiring for a small content creator like myself, thanks for sharing! I loved every minute of it. 🙏🏻

Great talk! I listened to the whole thing and I really enjoyed it. I need to listen to Lana when she talks about perfectionism and just doing the thing. I think we need to quit calling it "perfectionism" and start calling it "compulsiveness" because I think that's what it really is.

she's real deep and i like her dating point of view a lot. maybe i disagree on some of her points where she put so much emphasis on the physical attraction factor since i personally would want a deeper connection than that, but i would assume from the rest of her conversation she probably meant hygine and style which is fine and reasonable since it's under the person's control and a lot of people agree at least on the hygine aspect. idk if thats a common thing in sweden but i'm happy to see someone like her express their thoughts like that and show that they have thought about it deeper than just the surface level since i feel like a lot of people forget that they're human beings and other people are also human beings and looking for perfection in another flawed human being is just pointless most ppl just want someone to connect and chill with which should be easy to find if we weren't too caught up into trivial things, but that's just me.

37:06 Ro does have equivalents, it is really just the Swedish for the words you said afterwords, i.e. calm or tranquility. All Scandinavian languages use exactly the same word with the same meaning, and there are cognates in most other Germanic languages, see e.g. the German "Ruhe", and the nowadays obsolete English word "Roo". They all trace back to old high German "ruowa" and then further back to Indo-European roots, so you could find words with similar sounds and meaning in many other languages I believe.

As a mother of three with two adult sons still living at home, while finishing their studies, I reacted to "living with the parents,with zero expenses, because... living with the parents". No! My kids pay (a fairly modest sum) to contribute while living at home. Because me and my husband also have dreams for the future and are planning on an early retirement to be able to fulfill some of our dreams before it's too late, and therefore can't support our adult kids (we do, of course, but not by letting them live on our paycheck). Just sayin'. Hopefully I don't stop to dream, explore and learn until it's my time to leave. With that said, thanks for this episode. I get inspired by you young people in my own continuing journey.
