I like how the segment from 6:08 on he's talking about how that spot looks to be a good place to find fish and explains why, then at 6:46 you see a fish eat a bug. Yup. Confirmed. Good spot!

I read Tom’s book years ago when I was just getting started and It really got me off to a good start! Now I follow him on KZbin. There are lots of great folks out there but Tom is right up there with the best!

...years ago, I read about prospecting for trout in the Summer, by using a thermometer to find where the up-welling cold springs are...some fish finder models used to have a temperature probe input, and an accessory 50 foot cable for the sensor...

Great instructional video. I like how you use those red markers to show the seams, rocks and areas too fish using those red arrows, Gave me a better visual understanding of the currents and flows. I have a new friend going to show me how to fly fish this summer of 2024 here where I live in Monarch, Montana. Your video pt. 1 & 2 are great gateway to understanding. Is that a float of some kind you're using above your fly. Turning 58 yr old on the 28th of Jan and this summer will be my first time ever fly fishing. looking forward to watching more of you videos and thank for keeping your videos easy to understand for the beginner like myself. Happy New Year Friend and if your ever up my way please come fish with me. I have a friend who runs a huge ranch here on what is called the Sluice Boxes and several creeks up here in the mountains I've yet to explore!!! Hope to here back.

Brown trout are night feeders as well. Hit the Colorado or the rio at dusk with a mouse pattern

Great advice. A good read on the water can make a massive difference. I actually talk a lot in my videos about why I’m casting where I am.

Surprised there wasn't a link to part 1 included in the description. It happens to pop up in the Up next feed, but that's trusting to chance.

Because I have never caught one so could not give any worthwhile tips on them!

Same here. Never caught one but I've seen a lot from West Virginia to the CO Rockies. A couple in Utah and WY too. Are they ninjas. Or have we already spooked them by the time we see them?
