Let me know what you think in the comments below and if I should make more videos like this, and what I should draw next!

Your presentation is TOP NOTCH!! 🤯 So many art channels will waste time rambling/turning it into a vlog, which is annoying and makes me click off. But this?! You got straight to the point and delivered your information and methods clearly and directly. The pace at which you spoke was great too, comfortably brisk. 👍 All in all, your choice of presentation definitely communicates "I don't want to waste your time. Take this info and let's get stronger together." Great stuff. 😝 I hope your channel grows exponentially! Subbed!! 💖

wow, your video gave me some food for thought. Salvador said the truth, in fact...my perfectionism is a menace and pushes me away from drawing further. It prevents me from enjoying the process of self-expression. There is no ideal. Thank you ❤❤❤

Exactly this! The way that helped me conquer this, was thinking of perfection as if it were the top of a tree: all the branches are the steps to get there. As you learn and as you grow, you are climbing up to the next branch… and when you feel like you’re not reaching your goal fast enough, turn around and you’ll see all the branches (goals) that you’ve already met. You can do this by looking at all your old artworks and comparing yourself to how you were back then. Climbing to the top of that tree might be your equivalent to reaching your level of perfection, but remember: there will always be a taller tree out there for you to climb. What might be your view of perfection today, will be different tomorrow. So in a way, the top of the tree doesn’t exist because you’ll always be climbing and you will always be learning, evolving, improving. Therefore, perfectionism doesn’t exist

Great points! I never went to that stage of finding my art style as I stopped for like a decade. My sketches come from magazine pages and comics. I remember my friend introduced me to his grandfather who was a known portrait artist and had presented several of his exhibits saw my sketches and I told him I wanted to create a cartoon-comic type art but he said I should continue with the standard I started and not go "backwards" into the cartoon-lile drawing. 😅

Aw man, I’m sorry about that. Art can be very subjective and is often based off opinions rather than anything else. Kinda like how modern art is appreciated by some and not by others. Creating dozens and dozens of illustrations, each one telling a fragment of the same story, is an incredible skill in itself. So if comic book art is something you want to pursue, or at least go back to and explore, then definitely go for it! You should check out some comic artists like: hummingfluff freddie_tanto clara_meath popmyth simonebianchiart armheadstudio rafaeldante You can find them all on Instagram ^^ Although their art styles are a little different, they’re a great resource to learn from if you need some inspiration 😊

great video. the two things that totally discourage me are shading and highlights. I feel like i'll never get those down. then again I just started messing around with art this year and have been poking at it every other week. I need to just keep at it.
