Few tips and comments: 1. Don't rub fragrance into your wrists or anywhere, it messes up the composition and dulls the scent, and decreases how long it stays on your skin. Instead, pat it on your skin. 2. For your signature scents get scents that last a long time on your skin, but this doesn't apply to summer scents since they usually don't have much longevity, but some long-lasting versatile scents can be used during the summer 3. You can spray cologne behind both ears which can be a good spot to spray your scents, and also spray your cologne on the lower part of your neck or each side of your collarbone, in case your partner kisses the upper section of your neck. 4. I wouldn't recommend getting extremely popular/overrated cologne like for example Dior Sauvage, Versace Eros, Bleu de Chanel, Acqua DI Gio although they have good scents and other really good lines, 1 million, you get the point. People will recognize them on you even though they can smell different on most people. You won't smell unique, and you'll end up smelling like so many other people. Instead, get ones with similar vibes or versatility, or not-so-popular fragrances like niche ones or popular brands that have an underrated scent. Overall, really good tips, many guys will appreciate these tips!

@@doubledown4957 I mean yeah you have a point and someone will inevitably go in public with your favorite fragrance, but like with phones you don't have to buy the newest and best iphone, you can buy the iphone x and still have all you need in a phone. Same with colognes, you can wear dior sauvage for example, but ysl y parfum and prada luna rossa carbon are good alternatives. Still, i plan on buying big name brand colognes so it's not like i'm against big brands, just that i choose not to buy something like bleu de chanel or eros.

If you're wearing popular colognes to the club then of course you'll smell basic, but if you wear them out and about doing normal things people are just gonna think you smell good, especially considering most people don't wear any fragrance at all.

@@timo.vargasdon’t rub just take it from me i’ve spent so much on fragrance and oils. you should avoid spritzing and rubbing for two reasons. First, rubbing your wrists together can dull top notes (or the scents you smell in the first five minutes of applying perfume). secondly, it mixes the perfume vigorously with your natural oils, which can change the way it smells. so when those chem majors tell you the molecules themselves might not change, just know the scent surely does.

It is actually quite amazing how strongly you can link a specific scent with someone. My dad has been using ysl y for a very long time and now everytime I smell it I automatically think of him almost like it's an impulse and stuff like that can go a long way when it comes to your relationships. As long as a scent is being produced and worn by others you literally become unforgettable.

A couple tips for anyone getting into fragrances Sample first, don't blind buy(unless you ballin like that) Unless you planning on only having under 10 frags, buy small bottles 1.0 or 1.7 is fine as once you get collection growing (oh boy will it grow!) This is my current "collection" because I still think its a little bit empty but its slowly progressing : 1.- Stronger with you absolutely Emporio Armani (I use it mostly on cold days and when I have to go to my office but not too many sprays because it is a very strong fragrance sometimes) 2.- Le Beau Eau de toilette JPG ( This is more like a spring or summer fragrance tbh but it smells great if you like sweet scents like me, this is pure coconut mixed with vanilla, great option for informal meetings or casual things ) 3.- Scandal Eau de toilette JPG ( Another sweet fragrance which in my opinion is heavily underrated and overhated , works amazing but just like the first one, it could be too sweet if you spray it a lot ) 4.- 212 NYC Carolina Herrera ( I almost have this one empty but its a great choice to use if you want an after workout fragrance , cheap and good ) I'm looking forward to get for this spring either Sauvage EDT , Yves Saint Laurent Y EDP , Prada L'Homme or Prada Luna Rossa Carbon. For the summer I think that one of the best options could be Acqua Di Gio Profondo, Dolce Gabbana Light Blue intense or Le Beau Le Parfum.

Pro tip: I's actually a misconception that your suppose to rub your wrist when spraying cologne. Rubbing the cologne breaks down the scent profile and can change the smell. Just a light spray and let dry so that it can mix with your skins natural oils.

Just want to reiterate, fragrance should be noticed, not announced. People are obsessed with sillage and projection, but it's offensive to wear a fragrance so strong that it is inescapable by those around you. Your scent should be personal. too all the ppl in the comments with "chemistry degrees" (as if that means something) you can literally look up any perfumer talking about why you shouldn't rub your fragrances. But hey its your money and smell do what u want ig. also most "typical" fragrances (designer) 1-3 sprays is generally not enough, a good rule of thumb for new ppl to perfumery is start heavy and pull back till you find the perfect amount. Every thing will perform differently on everyone so dont take a fragantica or yt "experts" opinion on longevity as scripture but more as a starting point. im also not suggesting you do this blind before going to work/school but at home where u wont offend anyone.

2 tips/slight disagreements with the video: - IMO as a general rule people should spray more not less. This is definitely fragrance dependent, but as a general rule, I think 3-5 sprays should be the norm. I used to do 2 sprays for the longest time and never got a compliment before. However, I started spraying 5 times (back of neck, sides of neck, sides of upper chest/shirt), and 1 week later I got a compliment. - You also want to spray on your clothes. This is because the fragrance will last way longer on your clothes compared to on your skin. So do both (I do 3 on skin, 2 on clothes)
