James Harden has a knack for getting to the rim against bigger and stronger defenders and finding a way to finish.
Today Coach Drew breaks down an advanced finish that he called "the stride stop."
As you watch this video all the way through, be sure to make note of the timing and angles that Coach Drew is teaching and demonstrating.
Elite players are masters at not just using their moves to attack the defense, but knowing when and how they should use their moves to most efficiently dissect their defender!
Comment and let us know how this move works for you and, remember, "burn up their ribcage!"

Feel like the lines a little blurred in the sense of what's legal and not legal (excluding the arm extension). In games when I use this move and the defence flops the refs are 9/10 gonna give it to the defence. How do I avoid this?
@billybuchanbuchan43
@billybuchanbuchan43 5 жыл бұрын
Rhys Hill you might be exaggerating it a bit if it looks like you just pushed them off using your body weight the refs would call that so if that’s your problem just be more subtle about it. Also make sure you wait until you feel him make contact with you but if the refs still calling it after that they’re just soft nothing you can do about that🤷‍♂️

Hey coach, every time I drive in basketball, I always get bodied. When I drive, my defender's chest or arms bodies me which forces me to slow down or lose balance. When this happens, I lose balance and dribble away from the basket and throw a hook shot. How can I fix this? Thanks

Hi, I'm 6,1' And learning basketball, I live in Mexico, therefore some people don't follow or know the rules, when people see this kind of play they call it a foul, offensive foul, could somebody explain me how this is not a foul? I do want to learn good and use this tecnics, but I need to know the basics, so please someone tell me how can I actually explain this to other people and make them understand this ain't no foul.
@stephenyip2814
@stephenyip2814 5 жыл бұрын
This is not a foul because you are not extending your arm out and using it to deliberately push them or hold them out of the way when making your drive. This is simply a bump to the defender's body using your shoulder, which is completely legal. Now the only time this might be called an offensive foul like in the NBA is because some guys might be quick to establish positioning with their feet and draw a charge, or they might try and flop. Easiest way to explain to your friends, tell them that if this was an offensive foul, then backing someone down in the post is too.

This is absolutely the wrong way to train young players to be physical. Lifting your elbow is an offensive foul. They end up extending the arms to get the extra space and force which is ILLEGAL on the court.
