I know this is an old video but I am so glad it came up on my feed. I have read books and watched videos and they have not shown how to finish off the beads. It just goes from the finished pattern still on the loom to resting gracefully on a wrist. That is a big step there that I could not make look nice, pretty or finished looking. Now after twentyish years I am going to dig my loom and beads out of the basement and make something for my children. Thanks again. (hearts)

I just created my first 2 weave bracelets. Love it much better than any stitch I've done so far. I had a very dear friend who wanted an indian style beaded necklace at that time I didn't know how to however I told her I would find out how. I learned a little too late she passed away on me a year ago and everytime I look at the next pattern I would like to try or draw up my own design I think of her and it brings a tear to my eyes, she was more like a sister I would have loved to have had. Debbie you are always with me especially when I'm weaving. Love You Lady. I feel you with me when I am running my thread to and fro. Thank you for taking your time to create this video I never would have known how to finish my work w/o you, I would have held them in my need to finish box/drawer.

Thank you. This is a great alternative to the traditional tie off method. I might also add, it would be a good way to use up leftover beads on the very last rows on either side. That way you can save those beads, esp. if you prefer their colour to others, for another project, since they’ll be covered up and glued over anyhow.

Idk if you answer questions, but if you do.. ok so I bought a loom that came with beads from Amazon, so I'm using the beads it came with a long with white thread, regular thread, I tried a couple of other things first and so far the thread has worked the best,.. so my question is, mine aren't coming out looking as organized and put together as yours, you can't see my pattern as well as yours, the beads just don't seem to fit as uniformly as yours or ones on Pinterest! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong? Is it the beads or the thread, or maybe a crappy loom? Any thoughts would be appreciated! ( Also thank you for this video! Very informative!)
@beadaholique2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear this is happening. In many cases, the issue may simply be that there is not enough tension. Unfortunately, you may need to start over to add more tension as you loom. Please note that too much tension may cause the cord to damage or break. Another issue is that your beads may not be fully uniform. We recommend Toho or Miyuki seed beads for the most uniformity. You can find them here: beadaholique.com/collections/seed-beads We recommend the Beadalon Jewel loom. You can find it here: beadaholique.com/search?type=product&q=jewel+loom

@beadaholique2 ай бұрын
Oh dear! I am sorry to hear that, they should not rust. If you bought them from us, please contact customer service at service@beadaholique.com. The only reason I can think of that rust could possibly happen is if they were exposed to a chemical such as perfume, chlorine, sunscreen, lotions - but even with most of those, with the exception of chlorine, I wouldn't expect them to rust after a short period. Please do reach out to customer service if you purchased them from us.

@beadaholique2 жыл бұрын
Hi Isabela. The problem to solve will be how will you wear the bracelet without some kind of connector. Those long threads at the end could provide a solution if you can tie them to something or make a clasp of sorts from fabric and add that...you'll want to brainstorm a creative solution along those lines if a metal clasp is out of the question...

This'll be extraordinarily useful. Though while slightly unfortunate, the spaces between my warp threads and my seed beads (I usually use Size 10s and 11s) are too small, so there's usually deformation near the beginning. However, this'll definitely make my loom pieces much cleaner, even if I just want to do small badges over bracelets

I just started loom beading and thought I wanted to avoid buying clasps, but now that I’m at the end I want something easy like this. Btw E600 is a very effective glue, however it’s extremely toxic and should be used outdoors. I’d keep it outside at least until it fully cures and stops emitting so much fumes. Personally I’ll try to find an alternative. My beadwork isn’t museum quality yet anyway. lol
@karenm9979 Жыл бұрын
What thread specifically are you using? The problem I'm having is that when I tie the knots They are too big to get into the slider with the bead as well. If I use stronger thread. It's too big and if I use less strength thread, then the bracelet will fray and break would love to know how you would solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

@louisaentsminger37516 жыл бұрын
Size 11 beads are pretty much the norm. Granted there are a lot of other sizes but when it come to using seed beads, size 11 is the most common. You can use stretchy cord but I don't use it bc I don't trust that it won't break. For attaching to the loom I use strong all-purpose sewing thread like dual duty plus in either tan or ivory & then .006 in or 0.15 mm beadalon wildfire thermally bonded bead weaving thread for the weaving itself. The dual duty is around $2 & the wildfire thread is about $4 both at walmart. As far as getting it to fit your hubby's hat, measure the circumference of the base of his hat & either do it exactly that length or use the leather she showed in another video to attach to each end & the strips to tie it around his hat so it's easy to get on & off of it & then he'll have some small leather tassels on it too. Anyway, hope this helps.

Dear Beadaholique, Where can I buy just plain old slider clasps like the ones you show in your videos? I have looked in Jo-Ann fabrics and do not see them there. I've been very discouraged lately from doing bead loom projects because I can't find those slider clasps sold in stores. I haven't looked online yet, but if there is any help you can provide me, it is greatly appreciated. I have all kinds of ideas for bead loom projects, and my second one that I did didn't take me long at all, and I am enjoying doing it more than cross stitching. But without the slider clasps, I don't feel like I can make more until I can somehow get the clasps. Thank you. EDIT: I am working with size 6.0 Miyuki beads. Will the clasps still work for that size bead?
