Lol I was freaking out because the Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant wasn't working and since I knew a bit about fastboot and adb commands, I thought I'd lookup a more "manual" solution and here I am with the best solution! I was able to update the replacement 2018 Moto Z2 Force I bought to PCX29.159-21-3 since for some reason the phone itself, the verizon software, nor the Lenovo software could make it past putting the phone into Fastboot to actually update it. Big thanks =)

if you flash the right firmware you should only have to flash it once. If still on bootloader screen use the volume buttons to scroll to reboot and power to select it.

i have the moto e4 and made the .bat out of the servicefile.xml, phone is stuck on the blue screen with the "'M' powered by android" logo screen before going to that screen it displays a black screen with "bad key" in the top left corner. ran the .bat for flashfile and noticed while running that while writing "boot" it responded with "(bootloader) image signed with bad key" but still came back with "OKAY" on the next line. the flashfile.bat worked completely and unbricked my phone. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!

sounds like you are flashing either the wrong firmware or a older firmware then the device that you have.

@@Rootjunkycom No, I was flashing the firmware it last had before I borked it. Will try again tomorrow with the latest firmware. The fastboot screen is saying flashing locked and I had accidentally locked the bootloader with a non-stock ROM loaded (with the oem unlock toggle switched off as well I think) so not sure if your method will brute force past all these hurdles.

I wouldn't even be bothering you with this, but the XDA dev, who build the Havoc ROM I want to use, stated that I have to downgrade my XT2041-4 from Android 11 to 10 to flash Havoc, and suggested that I use Vache's Moto Flash Tool, but I can't find instructions anywhere. So, I followed your script suggestions in the video, but it errors out. The problem maybe related to the age of your script tutorial in the video. you cant fully restore because you have a locked bootloader. unless amazon releases a signed oem.img we can flash

Would this work putting say LineageOS on a Motorola G7 Power phone? I'm running into issues trying to flash using their instructions -No boot_b. It was a Cricket phone and I did their unlocking. But other guides are showing them entering a software unlock strings from Motorola as if I'm missing that step as well. I don't know. It's a pain in the ass!

Thks for showing how to create a flash file for the G5 Plus, but unfortunately for me it does not work. The computer etc sees the phone, I can send the command, but get back a whole wack of "(bootloader) permission denied" and "(bootloader) flash permission denied". This phone had stock ROM, the bootloader was unlocked to allow root/flashing to Android 10, but that was never done. So Bootloader was relocked. Now getting "operating system has changed" (did not touch it), so figured re-flash it using your method HELP please

Code: I followed the guide but I was getting an error formatting system erasing 'system'... (bootloader) Permission denied After some digging I found a somewhat related post suggesting using "fastboot -u" for commands involving system as the files would just overwrite even though formatting of the partition was denied. HOW in the HECK are you able to get a result from "adb devices -l" whilst in the bootloader?!!?!? I've only ever gotten fastboot commands to work, no adb unless I can get into a recovery...very curious as to how you are able to do that
