The most productive way I have used in lakes or ponds is a three way rig. Using the smallest three way swivel, 4 lbs test and a 3" pink or bubble gum worm. Gamakatsu TW hook size 12, 14 or 16. Use about18" leader for the hook and a 12" leader for a 3/8 oz drop shot weight. These the worn to about 1/3rd back. The worm will float. Went fishing a couple of days ago and caught 17 trout in 2 hours, all released.

Great advice. Im a huge trout magnet fan. I've caught many trout and bluegill on them. Even a few nice bass. They never seem to gut hook ever. I need to fish the power worm more. Im just afraid trout will bite at the tail more and not get to the hook. You don't seem to have a problem though. I'malso gonna try the 10 lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader. Great advice. I don't like 500 size reels anymore though. I had a Pfluger they just did have what it took to get a large rainbow in. I won't touch it anymore 😅. I stick with the 1000 or a bit larger now.

🎣 I enjoy using these worms, for sure i do here. I think they're better than the trout magnets. The only thing is I think they should put the worms in a bigger pack. After a while when i catch too many fish with them, the trout really do wind up ripping the the rubber worms to much. Great review and information, I really enjoyed watching here 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Good video! It wasn't until this video that I learned Cheese was a natural worm color!? LOL. In lakes or ponds, I find sometimes I need to get deeper than the bobber will allow. I ended up repurposing my Powerbait "Carolina rig" setup...put the powerworm on a hook (instead of jig head) and float it off the bottom. Could also do a slip bobber to get more depth...but, that's a bit more complicated of a rig for beginners.

Slap a split shot on about a foot up from your hook. You will catch something
@cpsullivan692 жыл бұрын
I think cuz these worms float, the jig helps keep them down low or on bottom. You could probably get away with some split shot about 8-12" above the hook. That's how I rig the MouseTails, since those already have an "egg" on them, I don't do jig head for those.
