Something I learned to help the fish calm down is to put your hands in lake water for about 20-30 secs to cool them down. When you lift a carp just tilt their head up a little and tail down. That will calm a fish too. Tight lines.

@@pczarnietzki480 either on your leader put the bead right up and use a lighter lead or have a try with mini zigs also if you know the rough depth
