How to fish Kokanee in Dworshak reservoir Pt 1

1st part of a 3 part series on how and where to fish Kokanee in Dworshak res. by Orofino Idaho. This video is about where, bait, and how to use a long line with weight.
This is what has worked for us and continues to produce year after year !
Dworshak is 50 miles long and relatively un-crowded.
Next video will be about downriggers and the 3rd will be about sling blades hootchies etc. with special tactics.

Gamakatsu SplitShot/DropShot size 4. Best hook for Dworshak Kokes there is. This year (2024) there were tons of fish, and a bit bigger than usual. Next year (2025) there will be very few fish, which means we should see even bigger fish. Should be fun!

Loved this video. I used to fish Dicks Creek area a lot several years ago. Unfortunately I moved to Washington State. Someday I will fish Dworshak again.

Thanks . fishing in Dwoshak is a lot of fun. Unfortunately they have never been that large. But you can catch 25 a day each . I hope you can get to the lake sometime soon.

We've had some family issues this last 2 years . But did get film mostly done for it. now we have to edit. so coming up.

I'm about to make my first trip to Dworshak 8/20 . Hoping to get lucky on Kokanee and or rainbow with the wife and grand daughter. But would I have any real chance at Chinook. I usually use roto chips w/ herring or anchovies Or use rapala J9 or J11. Think I have any chance. TIPS Thanks so much.

Dworshak has no Chinook in it. You would have to be on the clearwater river when it opens from orofino down river. sorry for late reply but was fishing last 2 weeks. Hope your trip turned out well.
