"How To Fish Nymphs” - Far Bank Fly Fishing School, Episode 9

This episode of the Far Bank Fly Fishing School series takes an in-depth look at fly fishing with nymphs for trout. Nymph fishing is usually the most productive of all trout fly fishing techniques and can result in days catching a lot of fish. Despite its productivity, some basic skills are needed in order to maximize your time on the water.

This man is a wonderful person for a beginner to study, iam a 67 year old man who has been fishing in all disciplines for 60 years but only started fly fishing 7 years ago also living in north Lincolnshire it's challenging so thankyou very much.

I needed this. Thank you SO much! I am having difficulty snagging too often when nymphing. I’ve lost at least 30 different flies from nymphing and getting snagged. Would love some input on judging depth! Thanks so much.

Thanks for your comment - glad you enjoyed the video. Judging depth comes with practice and becomes harder as you go from gin clear water, to water that has a slight color to it. If you start by standing at a depth just above your knees you'll be about 2 feet deep. Use the visual acuity of the bottom where you are standing as a base line for guesstimating the rest of the pool. Hope that helps a little...
