I am fully with you, those are the two ways I use exclusively with a favor to the Carolina for more productive especially in a tough day. It is easier to rig than dropshot too, which makes a huge difference in a short fishing window in the early morning and early evening. As you mentioned, dropshot is easier to cast and more sensitive, so I still use it as well. What I do though, is to add a sliding bobber without a stop knot, so I can cast a country mile without having to use a heavy sinker to hurt the natural presentation. Of course the bobber should have some weight by itself, slightly heaver than the sinker. Otherwise the bobber won't catch up with the sinker during the casting. I don't put the sinker on the main line, instead in the leader with a stop knot between it and the hook.

That is a cool rigging method! I will have to try it! Thank you so much for the comment!

Great video. We will be in Morro Bay this coming week, so it will be a perfect time to get the surf gear out and give it a try. It's been a couple years. Thanks for the video inspiration!

Those sand worms might be good around the Chesapeake Bay. I use Gulp swimming mullet, shrimp, and jerk shads all the time for flounder. Jig heads and Gulp are hard to beat for flounder, redfish, trout, and just about everything bites them. The folks that fish for spots and croakers might do well with the sand worms, and if there are 4 or 5" versions they could work on flounder. I don't think I've seen them here.

I've tried camo, but haven't got anything. Just got natural color the other day. Hope that works.

I have caught more fish than I can count on the camo. I've also caught them with red, motor oil, and pumpkin seed colors.

Just tie the hook on first. Then you can tie on the leader the right way up. Passing the tag thru makes the knot weak.

I e fished dog beach and Sunset mainly. Bolsa China too but never seen a jetty. Maybe I stick too close where I parked. I’m going out once the water temperature comes up. I hate the way my feet feel when they’re warming up 😆

For me the beads is more to protect the knot. From the weight. That’s why I use the rubber ones.
