How to fit a Lumenition Ignition System to your Distributor!

I've just acquired a car with a Rover V8 and Mallory distributor, which used to be the 'thing to have'. In your opinion would you stay with the Mallory or switch to something else and use the Lumeniton kit or something similar? I think Jeremy has a Rover V8 in his seven style car, what's he using?

I have an MGB fitted with this system about 35 years ago.. maybe longer as the car came with it. The car is now misbehaving. After about 15 minutes of driving the car simple stops and will not restart for about 15 minutes. The exhaust smells of unburnt fuel and the plugs look dry and totally healthy. I am pretty sure the carbs are adjusted perfectly. My prime suspect is now the ignition system.. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? What should I check? Normally I would suspect the condenser - but there isn't one. Could it be the coil?

Hi, I don't know if you will see this but looking at a mg b for a friend who has this kit, they are struggling with no spark, The neg coil wire seems to only be switching intermittently, when looking at the wireing very briefly the earth was not bolted directly through the box but was bolted to a suitable place on the body, does the actual box itself need the earth lead bolting to or thorugh it as you say near the end of the video, or is it only the wire that needs earthing? Thanks in advance.
