Great work! We did a winder with 5 winding steps with this runner and didn't know about the rug option. We did manage, and it looks good, but wish I'd seen this first! Going to look at your stair rod fitting. Thanks!

This looks fab! Did you have any issues with the main part of the carpet fraying? Especially at the edges where you’re stapling?

How long do you need the staples to get through the runner and underlay? Thanks.
@LivinganOrganisedLifeАй бұрын
Hi there, my staples are 15mm but it will depend on how deep your underlay is as it might be thicker. Hope your project goes well 😊

About to do this, exact same runner and rods too by coincidence. Just wondering if you really cant see the staples, even coloured? I'm quite ocd about these details. Thanks!
@LivinganOrganisedLife3 ай бұрын
I can’t see them. I tried to get them as close as I could to the back of the step so the rod would also cover them. Good luck with your project!!

@@LivinganOrganisedLife Thanks! Is the underlay the width of the jute part or the whole width of the runner including border?

Hi, I’m glad it was helpful. I used a Titan nail gun from Screwfix but they don’t sell it anymore. This one is similar and looks better: www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb961nal-30mm-second-fix-electric-nail-gun-240v/909pg?ref=SFAppShare

Hi James, I used the Dunelm jute herringbone rug with the black border. The link is in the description box under the video and also here: www.dunelm.com/product/herringbone-border-rug-1000194785?defaultSkuId=30849947&colour=Herringbone+Border+Black Good luck with your project ☺️

Hi Deborah, how did you prepare the wooden side? Did you use a machine to sand and is there any special paint to use? Thanks
@LivinganOrganisedLife4 ай бұрын
Hi, I sanded the wood with my palm sander and painted it with white water based satin quick dry paint. I had to fill it in a couple of places but it was pretty good under the carpet ☺️
@ZacharyKentVT23 күн бұрын
I thought the idea of rods was that staples weren't necessary. Am I wrong?
@LivinganOrganisedLife23 күн бұрын
I think many years ago rods may have had that purpose but nowadays they are purely decorative. The rods I’ve got are not close/tight enough to the carpet to hold it down.
