Becoming a new climber do I just climb to the top unhook my strap to keep me safe and jump head first all the way down?

Great sizing info! I am currently in between sizes and that showed me exactly what I needed to know to pick the right size!

Thanks. Sick of a video title that you have to wait 90% through the video to get to the reason you clicked.....

I just tried some Black diamond harness and Pretzl. I found the Pretzl ones to be more comfortable. Probably because of the padding in the Pretzl.

It’s Petzl* not pretzel.

Hi I've got a question for sizing my harness. I have a harness but I've gained weight following an injury which makes it quite difficult to put on and take off, but I can still tighten it enough so that the foam overlaps. Should I consider changing my harness since I don't know how long it will take to loose the wight or can I stick with what I have ? Thanks ! This series is very useful, like you I'm currently climbing 5,9-5,10 and I'm planning to be able to take my lead class this summer or later in fall.

If you can still tighten it so the foam overlaps, you should be good!

Does it matter if I'm 240 pounds
@maxxcastillo93474 жыл бұрын
No. These harnesses can hold the weight of a small car without issue. You may need to use thicker ropes, but you should be fine with typical 13mm ropes. Generally speaking, you want a rope that'll take 10 times your weight. 2400lbs can be accomplished with ropes as thin as 8mm

Weight might not be an issue but finding a harness that will fit a big waist could be a problem, I don’t know what waist size they carry on the maximum side. Someone maybe able to help .

Just a few years ago I weighed 260 and I was still climbing. No rope or harness is gonna have any safety issues with that weight. They can hold SO much more than that. Only issue being heavy is if you have a large weight difference with your belayer which will pull them up higher when you fall and you'll take bigger falls. Also I was wearing a BD momentum XL harness and a petzl corax size 2 without issue at that weight.

Get rid of the damn music. It is so difficult to concentrate on what the narrator is saying while straining to hear him over that music, and it goes on for 8 minutes.

Weight being the big difference between them. Not much of a difference worth the price.
