It made perfect sense! Even if I had never watched you before, this video alone makes it obvious that you have TONS of experience. I wish I hadn't waited for retirement to start sewing because I simply can't make up for the years of experience. But, oh well-I'll learn what I can!

This is brilliant, thank you for explaining this all so well! I would LOVE it if you did more videos like this, explaining how you know what alteration is needed depending on what you’re looking at. The pattern diagrams and posture sketches are so helpful too. A series on ‘reading the wrinkles and how to fix them’ kind of thing would be incredible! Thank you for your generosity in sharing your expertise with us, I have learnt so much from your videos.

@@DowntownTailoring Fantastic, I look forward to learning more from you! I would love to be able to looking at wrinkles on a customer's garment and know how to fix them - especially those diagonal ones that are soo tricky to work out how to fix (at least for me)! Thank you, I can't wait for your next video :)

3:47 THANK YOU! It took me years to realize why my pants dont fit properly. Im 6 ft tall curvy woman with a short torso. Its really hard to find jeans that accommodate these attributes. Ive started to tailor my own jeans now. Ive tried shortening the lower part of the crotch area but it created tooo much tension in the thigh area. This was very helpful.

I always have the problem of the rise not being raised enough. Which leads to discomfort and the ugly camel toe. Dropping the crotch always make the length, even shorter and with a 34" inseam, most pants fail to fill the requirements😯

If the customer hit the gym consistently, watched what they ate and paid money for clothes that fit their body type… I realize these are skill share videos, but there is no way I would have purchases these jeans. Maybe she lost/gained weight and was trying to reconfigure the jeans to match?
@DowntownTailoring6 ай бұрын
This doesn’t make any sense at all. As I said in the video, this problem presents consistently on athletic customers with muscular thighs. I’m not sure if you watched the video but these pants were bought strictly for an explosive dance. I’m not sure if you really really recognize a body that “hits the gym” but this is the tell-tale sign of it. Anyway, for a good tailor, a body type is a body type and my job showing the proper alteration isn’t meant to disrespect anyone. Please, abstain of making these comments . This isn’t the right community for you.
