Great video but having had a 12V compressor fridge in our old van this winters project will be to replace our 3 way with a compressor fridge. It’s a no brainer in my opinion, especially if you travel to warmer climates.

I don’t disagree, though I do miss the silence of the 3 way and they have worked well for us (when well maintained) We only changed as we’re moving away from LPG as we add more LiFePO4 and Solar.

Could you please help me with a smad 3 ways fridge 60 litres the 12v wire is heating up to much I had it wire to a switch board with a 15 amp fuse it started to smoke

Hi, there are a couple of options - 1) your cable is undersized for the current draw needed 2) there is a fault in the 12v element causing it to short circuit which is causing a higher current draw than normal. Either way if the fuse is sized correctly for the cable the fuse should blow before the cable gets too hot. Do you know the expected current from the manual and is the cable sized for this?
