You aren’t joking. It’s a constant struggle keeping it all tuned up right to work properly. I bust out the $50 shop vac and it’ll run circles around the Dyson, get wet, suck up all kinds of crap, and just keep going. Dysons are the worst!

I had mine for 2 years … never had issue Bought refub unit from eBay official store …. All battery powered things like a car battery need a replacement.. Most people don’t do maintenance.. and it is more maintenance intensive… vs old corded vac, but I don’t think I can go back. I use for house, small surface area and the car…. It’s a one vac to rule them all

@@sungminhong9673 I give immaculate care to all my things. My first Dyson crapped out right after the 2 year warranty expired. My second Dyson is only 8 months old and has stopped working. It will only run for a couple of seconds and the digital display will not come on. I clean it regularly, and *always* take care to dry it thoroughly before using. It's junk. As most modern electronics are. Planned obsolescence. Not sure why you feel the need to white knight for this junk?

I've owned 4 Dysons (2 cordless handheld, and 2 large floor vacs) and have taken great care of them all. After about 3-4 years of light usage (approx once a week), every single one of them has randomly broke. The cordless ones both just stopped working, no power, no lights, nada. The floor vacuums had various parts randomly break off of them, usually connected to the wand and hose. I'm convinced that they're designed to break. I do quite enjoy the products, but it's starting to get annoying. Usually when you take great care of something, you'll get a lot more usage out of it.

I liked my V6 so much that I put it in my shop to use. I still use it after 6 years. Decided to get the v11 in Costco. After a year the similar problem happened to me like other folks. You press the trigger but you get a blue light. Sometimes it sucks and sometimes it stops for no reason. No pulsing. Called dyson and they sent me the main body.

So you just essentially replaced THE MAIN part of the vacuum. Whats left to throw away? A bunch of plastic parts? My vacuum stopped charging once, I ordered a new main unit under the warranty and now after a single use the battery is drained and it is not charging again. This entire thing might go back to Costco. Dyson is really really really an overpriced piece of dunk at this moment. I used to have multiple dyson vacuums and they worked fine for many years but now they lowered their standards to the floor and are not worth it at all. Lots of other nice vacuums these days, try them out

Wash filter, shake dry. Leave to air dry for 24 hours. If you can't wait 24 hours, hold dyson facing up so air filter is facing the ground, screw on air filter, turn on vacuum for 5-10 minutes. The large volume of air blowing through will dry it faster. Main thing is you don't put it back on holder till it's absolutely dry cause water will travel down. Of course it doesn't hurt to play it safe and just buy a second air filter, when it's time to wash, wash and use your spare. By the time it's time to wash again, you're spare is good to go!

Always critisizing (some people)! I appreciate the video because you showed all the steps before buying a new body, and not everyone knows you can do that. One thing I am going to add to the list for my current problem is that I am going to use the air compressor to blow out the inside. Mine acts like it has a block that I cannot locate.

Hi, After taking the bin off, I shook & banged it upside down & the multiple holes near the end were blocked! After several bangs & shakes, years of dust came out. I even used a thin skewer stick & poked down the different holes to loosen the clumps & even more dust came out!! works great now. Just thought I’d share & I wouldn’t of got to this stage without you’re vlog, thank you 🤗

A lot of problems can be solved by regularly cleaning the Dyson body with compressed air! You will be amazed by how much dirt will be blown out all of the crevices. I have used the stronger machines that you can use to inflate a car tire but these are really making a lot of noise, so, after a few months I bought a handheld compressed air unit with battery, that is charged via USB adapter. Works like a charm and is extremely handy. Remove the filter from the body also, and blow the compressed air on that end to clean it. I also blow air through my filter, thus cleaning this very regularly. We have the V11 (SV14) Animal for 3.5 years, and still works perfectly - but you must do this maintenance on it! As we have dogs in the house, where we do daily long walks with, you'll understand that a lot of dirt is coming in the house. A last thing, do this blowing of compressed air outside the house, as a lot of dust will come out of it.

I would be extremely unhappy if my vacuum stopped working after just three years! And replacing the body seems a very expensive option. I have only had one Dyson vacuum, v6, and it stopped working after 2 years needing a new battery. The astronomical cost of new Dysons is ridiculous when they only last three years

I have a V11 and noticed that the voltage adaptor had come partially out of the wall socket and there were no led's showing anywhere, even when I plugged it back in. So I removed the three small Phillips head screws, removed the battery, pressed the reset button a couple of times and then replaced the battery. When I put the vacuum back on the charging cradle the charging screen lit up and showed that it was charging.

I bought my Dyson because other family members had such a good experience with their Dyson vacuums. Unfortunately, my Dyson vacuum works occasionally. I clean the filter, which takes at least two or three days to dry and I empty the cylinder after every use. It doesn’t have very good suction. I had to go and buy another vacuum. If anyone is thinking about buying one of these vacuums read all of the reviews. The price is a deterrent for most people and really they are not worth it. Sorry that this post is so negative, but I was looking up how to troubleshoot and saw this video. Go buy a bissell, they are heavy but at least they work and are not as frustrating as a dyson!

It can depend how old the vacuum is, because if its around 3 - 4 years and still on the original battery then even though it says its fully charged it could be a faulty battery. It may have enough power to show the display but not to enable the suction. I would try a new battery first.
@Ecksterphono

Found out there was a little moisture in it. As a last resort I used silica gel packs inside the dust bin end of the vacuum and the rectangular opening on the cyclone canister and bottom. Put at least 10 in the bin. Left it in there for a few hours. Took them out and it worked again

v11's are notorious for faulty switch. made of plastic and they crack which stops it from applying the pressure to the battery to run it. Cost is about $15 but spend an extra 5 for a metal replacement one.

I did the same thing to my V11.... no you don't need the main body at all. What you do need is a #1 Phillips screwdriver and a T8 torx driver. Remove the filter and let dry complex, remove the back of the main body from the front of the main body. Use the T8 torx driver to remove the 2 torx screws holding the motor in and let it sit out for a day or 2 in the highest and warmest place in your house (usually top floor of your house or attic). This is generally going to be much easier and faster in the summer if you don't use AC throughout your entire house I.E. central air or in the winter when you run the heat. If you do have central air find the room with the return air vent location (the one with the vent filter) and leave it in that room instead since it will act as a dehumidifier. Unless you put the filter in extremely soaked it's a minimal amount of moisture you got into the wrong places to ever get moisture inside if you stopped quickly. Also stuff a dry sponge down the inner tube between the motor and the screen that runs inside the filter. Should help the wicking process (one without the green/blue scruff pad preferably and not a damn magic erase sponge 🤣

It’s amazing for such an expensive vacuum, it would be so hard to maintain it after cleaning. Now I came to understand, Dyson is just an expensive garbage. Just reinforces my opinion that I experienced when I worked at the hardware store, Dysons were always breakind down. We had to stop selling them. I told my kids not to buy one for my wife. But they did. Now she constantly buggs me about the filter light coming on even after she cleans the filter. My over 20 years up right still works like a charm!

My V11 Hepa filter was probably still moist when I put it back and it fried the motor. Bye bye 600euros. It is instructed to wash the hepa filltert, wait atleast 24hrs, before putting it back or it could damege the motor. Seem to be the case because this happened to me. So it there a way to fix the motor. I try to let it dry properly first as it is and then opened up, lets see how it goes. That second dry hepa filter is indeed a good idea, if you are in a less than 24hrs 'hurry'. It's 3 yrs old so it might be the 'old' battery lets see, so much 'fun' to trouble shoot this.

We have a V11 that is 3 years old and doesn’t turn on. It came with an SV15 battery which is different from the other batteries used on the V11. Its attached differently to the main body from the others and the circuit board inside is sealed, one cannot open the sealed area to detach the two wires on 2 posts which lead to the battery on one side and the motor on the other. So It’s impossible for me to replace the trigger ( if it is the trigger that is the problem and I don’t think it is). I am at a dead end I will have to throw it out and know I will not waste my money on another one!

It's not how to fix the Dyson, it's how to buy a new cyclone and motor, although you don't have to buy all these parts together, you can buy just the motor, it looks like engine problems and put on the old cyclone, which is a total of six screws to take out, it just confuses the mind, a video of a waste of time

😂😂😂😂 but you didn’t fix it, you replaced it with new after saying your didn’t want to throw it away, which is exactly what you did! Waste of air time!

I literally thought this was a real repair video and not buying a new unit and putting old parts on it to make a Frankenstein Dyson. Super disappointing video bro, might consider giving this a different title.
