I started with you first tip and greased the bearings. That did the trick! Mine is working perfectly again. Thanks so much!

WD is the opposite of greasing a bearing. Use light machine oil instead

What is the name of the plastic piece in between the motor and the gear mechanism, that is attached by 4 screws? That is why my old fan won't oscillate. I would hate to throw it away if i can just replace the part but I am having trouble finding it online.

My Pifco whirlwind 12” has an oscillation problem as well. When it is engaged, the oscillation knob will turn like normal but the bottom bit that the arm attaches onto has no movement so i was guessing something has been dislodged

Yeah could be worth opening it up and having a look, these things can either be needlessly tricky or a simple fix you just never know 😂

Wd 40 is a detergent Use 3 in 1 oil on all bearings only Shows a fan on the back I believe the bottle is blue

The rod that oscillates the fan is broken on mine. I tried super glueing it back together, but it broke again when I tried making it oscillate.

That’s annoying, it’s a shame these mechanisms break so easily!

Hello, don't know if you can help - I bought a brand new oscillating fan, worked fine for a few days, then just stopped. Motor still running. Took apart, sprayed with WD40 even though it was completely clean, and the bearing/pin part spins on its own, but once I replace the fan blade, it won't. It will rotate if I manually spin it, but it never catches and continues on its own. Thank you!

Hi, sorry for late response. That sounds to me like the plastic part in your fan that holds part of the mechanism together may have broken, although I would be surprised by this if it was brand new!

Wd 40 is a detergent really 3 in 1 oil is best for the bearings

I like the red blade fan on left side. Where can I get one? I live in The United States.

It’s a Pifco 1063, they can be found on eBay over here in the UK - you may find some that will ship internationally. They are nice fans. I have a video on it here:
I have a fan but it makes a click click sound when it oscillates to the left

Same. Looking at it rn and there’s some bar that isn’t attached to anything

What’s the problem with my fan
@fanaticalfans2 жыл бұрын
It could be that one of the gears/cogs is out of alignment, you’d need to remove the motor cover and spin the motor by hand with oscillation engaged to see what’s broken or if something is restricting the movement
@VINTAGELIKE6 ай бұрын
You should of applied lithium grease in the gears after cleaning them

Yes! It’s the 12” model of the same fan just manufactured under a different name. Have seen them produced with various names such as Goldair/FSL/Criterion/Fridgidair etc

can I use cooking oil? I don't have wd40
@fanaticalfansСағат бұрын
@@WinterDrego I wouldn’t use cooking oil as it can be thick and unsaturated, since filming this video I have discovered sewing machine oil is actually best for oiling fans!
