i believe the fenceposts are failing because that dirt is piled up against the posts, retaining moisture and this feeding microbes and other causes of rot. my posts failed after only a few years where posts experienced these conditions.

These fence posts are failing because they were from 2010 which was a poor year for pressure treated wood because they tried using a different chemical.
