How to fix a jammed tool holder on a milwaukee reciprocating saw.

This problem can happen with any brand.
Recip saw general get used and abused in not so good places which normally involves them getting wet. The tool holders can eventually simply rust and jam up. Don't go dumping a good recipe saw if all it needs is a quick clean.
Avoid this problem by applying a touch of oil or grease every so often.
This little job dose take some patience, so take your time and take a few pics to note how it all goes back together.

See I have that issue because of the fact that I’m a plumber and a lot of times we cut water pipes with it and water tends to run right into that and it’s seizes up and I just normally spray down with WD-40. It hasn’t stuck on the since but it had some issues.

So there i was watching this video.. not a tradesman so freaking out at all the components to mess with tho im sure its easy when you know how and the video was great btw. thought i'd read the comments, seen yours.. sprayed a bit of WD40..bang job done.. the saw is back in the game lol..

Thanks man, your video helped me. Got it apart, cleaned and back together. Seems to release the blade fine now, but without the plastic Spring Cover that is in a bit deeper, it was hammered into a flat mangled washer. Probably not put in the right place by the guy that threw it away. In your opinion, is it entirely required? (Part#2 Spring Cover in the Parts Diagram).

Cancel that, looking at it the answer is yes required. Part 8, Cam Cover, clips into Part 2, (mangled) Spring cover, which would stop debris from clogging the blade lock and release mechanism, which is what happened. The replacement kit, has all of that anyway so I'll see how long she lasts.
