This made me laugh out loud 😂 32 year old female living alone with squeaky/rocking floorboards, feel a lot better about trying to sort them after watching this. Thank you!

@Linda-rn7pg I've also recently purchased a property with squeaky and rocky floors in parts. Luckily I have a family member who is a joiner and can replace the subfloor where required. Hope you can find someone!

2:59 Plumbers lol.I had one doing my bathroom install,he did ok installing it but was woeful at stopping the floorboard creak.I am considering doing a DIY job at sorting it but he put a subfloor down so i think i`ll be pissing in the wind to try and fix it

I have a whole room to do, the floor is 8 x 4 ft MDF board , I am looking for the pipes by putting my steel rule through the joins and following existing nails

What if I can’t lift the floorboard? I have the same issue but it’s all one layered wood flooring across the room. There’s a specific area that creaks

Any tips on working out what's underneath floorboards with no simple way to lift them? I can see where the joists are from the existing nails but obviously that doesn't mean there are no pipes or (more likely) cables.

Lift the boards, don't risk it.

Thanks guys, question, why screws and not nails? In older properties they seem to be nailed

I’ve had my loft converters and the muppet builder nail gunned all the tng boards down it creaks everywhere. Unfortunately it’s carpeted over now too anyway to remove all the creaks ?
@homeimprovementsАй бұрын
That’s a hard one 😞 flooring up and try to screw it all down but there no guarantee it’ll work as most require Pu glue on all joints 🙈

Awesome video, next time we have the carpets up I'll be tackling these. We have some sections that have been infilled with the more modern fibreboard flooring and they squeak and creak like nothing else. How do I sort those please?
@homeimprovements2 жыл бұрын
Could try removing the piece and using some pu glue to glue it back it expands and will help fill voids 😊👌🏼

Great video, love the humour and quality info. What’s the benefit of counter sinking the heads ? How do you do that?

Thanks guys. Very very useful video. Wish you were in the area to do mine! Who’s best to call for this kind of jobs, a carpenter, a plumber, someone else? Sorry if it’s a stupid question 😅

A decent carpenter or handy man will be able to do this for you 😁😁
