This is really good stuff, Doc. I have started playing bassoon in a community orchestra after being away from it for 45 years or so. I think I used to know what I was doing, but maybe I was just naive. I have the Homer Pence booklet, "Teacher's Guide to the Bassoon," and he recommends shaving the heart of the reed to fix a sagging E. So far this has not worked at all. I will try your ideas next, and see what I can do. Thank you for these excellent videos.

thanks for this video! Now how about E-flat without using the right hand to make it play in tune? Is it possible? haaha
