Friend, it's 2024, and I just found your video as the first result of a giggle (sic) search, after I disassembled my HF clamp, and came to the same diagnosis as you did. I giggled (sic) it to seek confirmation, and I found it with your video. You and I are birds of a feather (including the 6 strings), and I really enjoyed your video, including the input from your cat, and your reaction to same (even though, I'm a dog guy...). Hope you are well.

Here’s the thing When there’s a will, there’s a way! To fix this problem! I just bought my small clamp and I have the same issue! Now I can fix it!! Thank you!!!

Awesome job. Good on you for fixing it. Way too few people actually bother fixing things these days and it would have just ended up in land fill. Thanks for this. I'm going to use it to fix my own clamps. 😁

Thanks for this vid! Designing some bar clamps for myself, that you presented the mechanism is more value then the clamp it's self, so there's that. The value you gain doing this repair includes, understanding design, materials, screw tension (you didn't shoulder or elbow drive those screws in, just a wrist twist) and on and on. Today's kids don't pull Shiit apart to get how stuffs made, they lack intrinsic knowledge.

That's all we did as kids...pull stuff apart! Eventually decided I should start putting them together as well. Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you for this very easy, quick fix for these budget clamps. I fixed mine in under 1 minute using your instructions. Plus - love your delivery, "technical terms" and your cat. LOL.

had two clamps just like this with the same problem. i though the holes in the little pivot plates had been worn down and i was going to need to pack them out with some sandpaper or something, but i thing the angle sollution is going to work. just need to make some little plastic spacers and glue them in and should be good as new.

Rattlecan Guitar Restorations that was for randy BUT I’m new to your channel and I dig it. I’m restoring a H612 silvertone archtop at the moment. It’s in three pieces currently. I’m going to clamp the top back on next week (and the back the week after that lol) and I wanted to know how to fix my clamps in case they give up the ghost at a delicate moment. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I had a similar problem with a culking gun which works on a similar principal? A little fetling and away you go! It's good to be able to do these repairs, saves money?saves the environment? A new one here in England costs as little as £2.99???cheers Rob.

+Robert Kibbler Hiya Rob. Yes, same general idea. Nice to be able to save a bit of cash for projects instead of replacing a fixable tool. Cheers!

Isn't it strange how our shop cats always meow and need attention right when we start to really zero in and focus on a problem? Seems like it happens every time. How do they know when to distract? I had the same problem with one of these H. Freight clamps and did the same fix.
