I came across this as well online, and cleared the same light by cleaning the pair of plugs, by removing both plugs, and a spritz of non-lubricating contact cleaner. Cheapest and and most effective fix ever - and Alfa Romeo clearly are aware of this potential point of maintenance, and therefore made the flap visible on 147's and 156's (like mine) as a first troubleshooting step. My 156 cleared the light instantly on startup.

@@1jinkata Hi there - when you open the boot, it is on the right-hand-side, underneath a black pentagonal/square flap, held in place with a Phillips-head screw.

@@martinlagrange8821 Hi, I have tried to find this connector in my 1999 Alfa 156 1.8TS. No luck and very frustrating. In the rear boot, the carpeting near and around the back lights is all one piece. No panels, patches. Just the plastic cover for the back lights. I removed it, there is just the lights connector. Tried to look underneath the front driver seat, nothing. No wires. Where else should I look? My airbag light is on 🙄 Thanks.

@@radiocontrolled9181 Hi there - there is a carpet lining around the boot, - and it can be prized loose using nothing but fingers - its secured with a raised lip around the boot roof, and cover. the plugs are on the RHS (Driver's side for RHD / Passenger side for LHD). Yes, its one piece, but it is a removable piece - persevere ! I found it a bit frustrating at first but I can assure you that you can remove it with care. Caution ! Make sure the battery is disconnected before unplug/clean/replug, as you definitely do not want the airbags going off on you !

A quick comment that might help others. My 147 TS had a battery go weak over 3 months. It would read ok when the car was turned off, as soon as you put load on it, for example lights with the engine off, it fell to 12,0V. It would still start the car. The airbag light became intermittent with increasing frequency and duration. For 2 weeks it was permanently on. I don't have the equipment to read and reset codes. As soon as I put a good battery in it the light went off and stayed off (I just jinxed myself 😄) So before going poking around with fragile connectors and risking damage, check your battery.

Thanks for the tutorial! I have an Alfa Romeo 147 1.6TS 105 hp, and I had the error : 22-Curtain airbag squib (passenger), it was solved by going to the airbag wires in the trunk.

In your video to fix the issue in the 147 airbag light , do you need to disconnect the battery before you unplugged the rear connector. Is the drivers side curtain plug in the rear on the GT as well please.

You won't solve it with fuse, you have to hook it up to diagnostic tool to see the code that will come up, regards
