My dear, I really dont understand: This is a photo of yours right? I know you shot in RAW... Restore curves and exposure in develop persona my friend!! I understand that is important to make tutorials for hobbist but is better to say that this is a method for a jpg photo taken in a free photo library and suggest to shot in raw just to recover photos like this without introducing unwatchable noise. I wait for your next video, have a good life.

This tutorial is just another way that will help someone to fix an underexposed photo. One of the many ways actually. So yes we can use the method you described as well.
