How have you found this week's video? Do you want more remove and replace videos like this or diagnostic content in the future?

More diagnostic content please. Your apprentice is lucky to have a great tech to learn from. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the comment 👌😊. I will try and get as much diagnostic content as I can unfortunately most days its very boring repetitive jobs like Nox sensors or pm sensors but I do get the odd few good diagnosis jobs! As for the apprentices, your have to hear me out on this one..... ALOT of what I do goes straight over there heads as they lack the FUNDAMENTALS about the DAF systems. It's why I've started to go through all the content from their college blocks and I'm in the process of creating a e-book for them to use as a back to basics like the "Hillier's FUNDAMENTALS of motor vehicle technology" but specific to DAF vehicles hopefully they can use this to build knowledge and exspand from this and surpass me as that's all I want for them 👌

The E-Book sounds like a great idea,nice having a reference manual to hand. I wouldn’t mind seeing some NOX sensor diags. Found the channel a few weeks ago, great content. Thanks.

And of course as always great piece of advice for non service trained mechanics that have to deal with quite complicated DAF electrical architecture.

Thank you for the comment 👌 DAF can be complicated. The electrical architecture is something I'm planning on doing in a video on how to read DAF wiring diagrams in the future 😎

From the Struggler as well. Not a trucker, just interested. How much did that little lot cost????
@TRUCKTECHUK2 жыл бұрын
Hi buddy 👋 when you say how much was that, technically it was all free as it was covered under warranty. If it was outside warranty your would 1) be paying for a maintenance contract on the vehicle @about 300 quid a month or 2.) Be selling your soul to afford a new one 🫣 3.) you would fit a second hand one in reality......which I just found newish one in a breakers yard for 4 grand.
@GFT-Workshop Жыл бұрын
I've just looked up a similar one, and its £11k just for the DPF unit, without labour, so very lucky its under warranty. Anybody who buys these trucks (any truck really) second hand in 3 to 5 years time better have deep pockets, still expensive even for second hand DPF, but more manageable. PS Great channel, we've subbed.

Just a quick question from an ignorant driver: why did you had to replace the whole unit? Changing just the filter (2k€ + brakets 300€ ) or some of the sensors would of fixed the issue ? That s what they usually do in Spain at the Daf dealerships. Mi xf106 does sometimes emit clouds of white smoke during regeneration while going uphill, but then comes back to normal, filter and sensors being changed a year ago or so
@TRUCKTECHUK Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, you can't change the Diesel Oxidising Catalyst in euro 6 and MY-17 exhaust systems only the Diesel Particulate Filter. With the failed regenerations from the diagnosis in Part 1 the only solution is to change the system. Hope this answers your question and thanks for asking 👌

@@TRUCKTECHUK lighting fast reply, thank you man! Seen the video again, you are right, and the doc is a 4k euros even second hand, hope it s covered under warranty if it comes to that. I recomended you chanel to our Daf mechanic, he is a great guy and he enjoys your videos and sense of humour. Wish we had you around in Spain, a lot of Daf trucks now show up failures with Vtg units, injectors, dpf , in their defense I would say they dont make drivers as they used to do :))) Cheers from Spain and thanks for your help and taking the time to record these videos

Did you have to degreen the new DPF after eas programming mate?
@TRUCKTECHUK2 жыл бұрын
Hi Wayno, yes buddy programmed the blank EAS ECU then had to set the "degreen" as it had the new DPF in the Exhaust so not to cause any thermal issues 👍😎

I wounder if you can help, in a nut shell, Lf45, incorrect Adblue, I have fitted temp sensors, nox sensors, dosing unit, control unit, even the particulate filter, still faults after about 100 miles on the road,???

No problem buddy. What year is the vehicle?
@alanoliver53782 жыл бұрын
GN67UOS, any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, if I had hair I would have pulled it out, I have a jaltest, not a davie, so I'm limited on testing, if I clear the faults and do a Adblue pressure and quantity test, I get 3 or 4 days before it faults again, if I don't clear the faults it goes into limp mode on about day 6,
@TRUCKTECHUK2 жыл бұрын
@@alanoliver5378 what faults does it actually come up with as I believe the incorrect adblue will be a dash displayed generic warning

SCR catalyst efficiency, valid data but above normal operation range.
@TRUCKTECHUK2 жыл бұрын
So scr efficiency is a fun one. You might have a build up of adblue in the exhaust causing your Nox measurement to be off. you can check the inside of the exhaust by using a borescope for quickness. Anyway Force regenerate the vehicle to ensure any deposits in the decomposition pipe are clear then carry out a road test and wait till your Nox sensors come online. Use your monitoring data and watch your scr efficiency, corrected Nox before and corrected Nox after. You want a MASSIVE reduction in ppm. Provided the adblue is correctly opperating like you said, you should get something like 226ppm before and then you get like 9 ppm after.....go for a GOOD DRIVE. Any stupid fluctuations in value or negative scr efficiency reading look at changing one if not both Nox sensors

These side skirts are so annoying... You have to be patient to remove it all the time, it's mostly on UK market, isn't it? And it also colect a lot of dirt from road, it isn't healthy for screws and electrical connectors...
@TRUCKTECHUK2 жыл бұрын
I find it's usually owner drivers who have these side skirts that do truck shows .. thankfully 95% of trucks are fleet and don't have any extras which makes my life so much easier 😎

I completely understand the infills are a technicians nightmare, but if their fuel wasn't at constant risk of getting stolen they wouldn't have to protect and inclose the fuel tanks to the extent they do.
