Hello and thanks for informative video, I have been using Mac OS for many years now on my Gigabyte Z77X UP4 TH motherboard and 3770 CPU, this motherboarsd has the ALC 892 audio. All audio works, also HDMI through the old AMD graphic card, but, I miss the 5.1 audio to connect through the glass digital cable to my Pioneer HIFI. For one reason or another I only get two channel stereo, any ideas, I am using "alcid=1" would that perhaps be wrong???

@@EliteMacx86 Yes I am, I tryed also the alcid=2 but it did not change anything, else all the sound ports work and I use them for recording into Garageband and Prologic, but I was fiddleing with trying to get the SPDIF to work. I shifted to the excellent Open Core about 6 moths ago. But I am not using the latest version though.

Layout ID=1, 2, and 3 are supported for Optical for your Codec. Try 1 and 3 to check.

@@EliteMacx86 Thanks, I have tryed all the alcid 1, 2 and 3, but, do you mean the Layout ID, but I have a Layout ID=7 for the whole. The computer only lists 2 channels awailable, but it seems to men that my Pioneer that receives the digital signal converts it to Prologic and plays to most of the speakers, but I can not select each speaker for testing in the Midi setup module to test each one of them. In the Midi module I can only select ordinary Stereo as output, but Sounflower which has no actual output means it can set up all sorts of surround but who ar meaningless since Soundflower does not connect to actual output excep an Aggregate that still will be only having the two channel output.

I am not getting HDMI audio on HD4K on big sur. I dont think that hda-gfx is relavant for os 11. Its a 7 series laptop with cx20507. latest lilu and applealc in open core, Is it necessary to keep resetting the nvram? I tried a million and one things all thats left is voodoohda which I hoped to avoid. Using macbookpro 12,1 the other thing comes to mind is connectors in the video device could possibly effect it. perhaps changing smbios could switch some connectors Ended up needing some more frame buffer stuff as suspected to get the right connectors (connector-type con1 then the 8 characters that indicate hdmi

Hi. I congratulate you on your channel. It's fantastic. I would like to ask you for help on installing the audio card in an HP 800 G4 SFF. This computer has a Conexant CX20632, this chip supports different layouts: "20", "23" and "28". How it works best is "Alcid = 20" but I only recognize a front audio output (headphones) and front mic. Rear audio connections, they do not work at all. The AppleHDADriver driver is fully recognized and the "AppleALC.kext" driver is updated to its latest version. Everything under Open Core 0.7.6. "Hackintools / Sound" -> Recognizes all inputs and outputs that should be operational. Can you help me get all the inputs and outputs of my sound card working? Thank you.

Thank You. Did you tried all the layout IDs? Make sure rear panel is enabled from BIOS.

@@EliteMacx86 Yes, indeed, it is activated. In windows 11 (I have dual boot) it is recognized and everything works perfectly there. I have tried all the layaout. Unsuccessfully. Only with "Alcid = 20" but it only activates one i/o.
