Bluetooth was not connecting to iPod or iPhone so I followed your instruction. Holding on off did not reset BUT, holding mute DIDI! It still has yet to pair but Im going to charge it for a bit and try again. (I don’t believe it came with any other cords to attach other than the docking station to charge.) so hope it works. If it is already updated to the latest version (1.1.4) try this: 1. Plug your speaker into a computer using the USB cable. 2. Go to btu.bose.com in a browser window. Download the software if you don’t have it and launch it. 3. The webpage should change to show it has launched. If it says there are updates available then choose to install them. This should fix it. 4. If it says the software is already up to date, then press the following keys in order: A,D,V, Up arrow, Down arrow. That should now give you the option to downgrade the software. Choose a downgrade and then Apply Changes. It worked for me!

Remove battery for hard reset! Nobody suggests this but it works! If soft rest doesn’t work, try removing the battery for a hard reset. Use a Torx T8. You’re very welcome.

For anyone who has tried almost every way on youtube - there was only one thing that worked for me. Resetting/upgrading/downgrading/battery shipping mode didn't fix anything. The one thing that worked was "upgrading" to the same version of software that you already currently have. Took 5 minutes and many sounds/flashing lights, but the speaker works perfectly afterwards

@@seenga so when you get to the bose updater, and it says you have the most recent version of software, press A, D, V, up arrow, down arrow on the keyboard in that order. Then select the only available version of software, and apply it.

And for those who didn't get any help from the solution mentioned in the video, here is your one last bet: DOWNGRADE THE FIRMWARE. MOSTLY IT WILL WORK. Here is how to go about it: 1. Go to the Bose firmware upgrade page - btu.bose.com/#section=start 2. Select your country and download the bose updater if needed (ignore this step if you have already downloaded the bose updater utility. The system should automatically pick up your country and device). 3. Now you'll be shown that your firmware is up to date (FW 1.1.4). Stick to this page and let it load fully. 4. Press the following keys on your keyboard sequentially - A then D then V then UP ARROW then DOWN ARROW. 5. Now check the drop down and you should be able to see FW 1.1.3. Select that and click on apply changes. 6. The firmware will begin to load now and this is typically a 7-10 minute process. Please make sure you DO NOT unplug your speaker or play around with the USB. 7. You will hear sounds from the speaker interim but hold on till the downgrade it complete to 100%. 8. That's it! The speaker will reboot one last time as the process hits 100% and your RED light should go away and AMBER light should come back in. Depending on your battery status, a voice may/not tell you that battery is very low and ask you to charge it. 9. I'd recommend keeping your speaker connected to your laptop till it reaches a sufficient battery level just to avoid the bad battery loop. P.S.: Most of the users who stumble upon this problem will have their batteries below 3% or even 0% but don't worry because this process will take care of the update/downgrade irrespective as long as you keep your speaker connected via USB. Cheers!

GetMekdBro Ermm okay, in all likelihood the battery is dead then. How old is your speaker? Here's your absolute last bet: Try to reset the system - long press the centre button for about 10-20 secs while still connected to power AND remove it. Also, long press the power button for 10secs and connect it back to the USB on your computer. See if this works and if it still doesn't, I'm afraid the battery will need to be changed.

Okay so from a fellow soundlink Mini 2 speaker owner and having faced these problems I have a suggestion that works well and as dumb and pointless as it sounds you just have to give it a good couple of thumps to the palm of your hand (may hurt) and it'll work, failing that undo the rubber base and use a torx bit to undo the battery screws and pull the battery slowly as to not break the connectors and give a slight blow into the speaker and then place the battery back into the slot and screw it back up then put the rubber base back on and you should be done.... Have fun peeps 😊😊

Your video was very professional and thats what I like about your channel, but my SoundLink Mini 1 is still flashing in red on the battery sign. Do you recommend buying and replacement battery.
