Hey! So I was gone traveling for a month and accidentally left my ps5 on in rest mode... when I got home, I tried to turn it on and it would not work. I tried holding for 10 seconds, and there was no second beep. So then I unplugged it and left it unplugged for a whole day to try and let it rest. The second day I wanted to turn it on but again wouldn't turn on, tried to hold it for 10 seconds again but still, no double beep to let me know it is in safe mode. Any suggestions?

Rhiannon if Safe Mode still doesn't launch, try power cycling your console. Completely turn off the console by holding the power button. Wait for the power light to stop flashing, then remove the power cable and leave the console for 20 minutes. Reconnect and attempt to launch Safe Mode.

Hi, I have been trying to get it into safe mode but when the second beep comes on and I am at the plug in your USB and connect to PS5, it goes to a screen that says "please wait" and then shuts off, before turning on again to the same screen automatically and repeats and keeps shutting on and off by itself. Any suggestions?

Please help me… 😢 I came back from a 5 day vacation, the ps5 was in Rest Mode the whole time. Turned it on and at first it seemed to be working fine. Then After 5/10 Minutes the screen started turning black and back on, then it turned black one last time and now it doesnt Turn on any more. Checked through remote play and everything seems normal, tried changing a few settings but nothing happened. Changed cables, screens, ports, powercycled it and even messed around with the power in the whole house, nothing. Safe Mode works but doesnt appear on screen. Going blindly by following instructions from a friend tried changing resolution and HDCP, still nothing. Opened it and cleaned every single corner, checked HDMI Port and it is perfectly ok… I don’t know what Else i can do

Wish they would use an actual bricked ps5 to do this to see if it’s effective

I did have a bricked PS5 and it worked 😁 other comments also confirm it works.

@@techleveller bricked PS5 means Sony banned it from use or you failed to install OFW/CFW. Hardware issue can brick the console too. You wont "restore" it with clearing the cache and rebuild the database, you need more serious method and tools to make it happen(usually bricked console finished in the e-waste or as a donor machine).

Are you holding down the button? You need to keep it held down till you hear the second beep

My ps5 won’t turn on and won’t go into safety mode power cycling doesn’t work either and it is clean and the fans don’t have any dust it turned off randomly and won’t turn back on

Found this for you could be some good steps to take. heck the PS power cable for damage and ensure it is correctly plugged into the console and a power outlet. Unplug the power cable. Wait at least a minute, and then plug it back into the PS5. Try another power cord. The PS5 uses an IEC C7 power cable that came standard with the PS3 and PS4. Attempt to turn on the PS5. If the power light is not on, move to cause 2. If the PS5 white power light blinks, then perform a power cycle. Press and hold the console's power button until the white light stops flashing. Remove the power cable. Wait at least 20 minutes while the power drains. Reconnect the power cable and turn on your PS5.

I tried these two things and still won’t turn on but it does make a beep noise when I click the power button I doesn’t flash any light and when I hold it it won’t go into safety mode and the second beep doesn’t happen

@@natmonti5195 If someone stole your PS5 would you want it to work correctly? Sorry but if it's a stolen PS5 like you said I don't believe it will work and nor should it.

I think it’s dumb. Same happened to me. There’s been thousands sold at Walmart that were bricked. Some stores buy 3rd party and sellers obviously don’t tell you that’s it’s permanent or temporarily suspended. Sony should offer to unbrick at least at a small cost. Oh well
