I’ve come to 3 possible conclusions with this video: 1: Boombringer has a whole shelf of corrupted Jet-Vac’s. 2: He’s a sadistic maniac who’s mastered the art of corrupting Skylanders 3: He’s a time traveler who did all these methods, took the footage and went back in time to do it over again.

ik this is late but if you have a laptop or pc and a nfc reader you can save the skylanders dump file/data using mifare windows tool and use notepad to open the dump file, delete one or two letters, load that dump file onto the skylander and it'll corrupt/break it

Bought a few Skylanders from an ebay auction that came corrupted and wasn't able to reset with the in-game needs without the game giving me the option to reset it. Method 5s full figure wipe saved it. Thank you very much for posting the guide!

Unfortunately, many years ago, 1 and a half Skylanders happened to me that were not read in the Portal. The first was Trigger Happy from the Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Starter Pack. At first, it was difficult to be used. After that the chip inside was completely demagnetized, preventing me from using it in all other games. The other "half" is, unfortunate enough, Fire Kraken's legs (alternative color), while the top was fully functional. Bad luck, huh? xD

The same thing happened with my own Fire Kracken. I still have it, just never bothered to fix it. It was weird, because none of the games sensed that he was on the portal except for Giants.

Thankyou so much I managed to fix my broken Dark Trap that got broken in the shipping, I tried to reset it in Giants but it didn’t worked even though I had the repair broken toy option, then I tried in Skylanders GUI Tool but it still didn’t worked. After that I reseted it in SkyReader-GUI and I saw only 2/6 boxes was green and it was weird because it names and the villains nicknames said long Chinese letters 🤔, but even there after resetting toy it didn’t worked, but somehow after I went back and reseted it in Skylanders GUI Tool again it started to work without a single issue, I must say it’s very fun to mess around in these tool programs 😉

The wireless portals infamously did this. Signal interference with routers and Bluetooth devices caused them not to read Skylanders properly. I had to get a replacement one from Activision themselves.

I did this with Dino-Rang while having Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure for the Wii and Skylanders Giants for the PS3 on at the same time. The method on “0:57” worked great.

Method 1 works on the PS3 version as well. plus it doesn't reset the figure's progress either. just tried it with a corrupted Hot Head. when going back on my save with him still on the portal the game did nothing but when i removed him and put him on the portal immediately after the game recognized him and he had all his levels, gold, upgrades, even his nickname.

hey I did the one with superchargers for my earth trap and it worked there but when I put it on trapteam, it showed more (showed element and said grave clobber instead of loading for a little bit) but it still doesn't work. will try option 5 though. will update if it works.

For some unknown reason, my copy of Giants from 2012 must’ve contained a faulty batch of skylanders. Out of my 200+ figures, the only ones I’ve ever had to reset are Series 2 Cynder and now Tree Rex (who just died out on me). I bet Jet Vac is prob the same but he sucks so I hardly use him 🤷‍♂️

For some reason, and despite the fact that both halves work with their own top and bottom-as well as the others-Blast Rouser (Blast Zone’s top, Rubble Rouser’s bottom) does not work for me, and I have tried every possible combination I have with Rouser (Wash, Magna, Rattle, Stink, Free, and, of course, Rubble), I doubt it’s my Blast half, because it doesn’t have these problems with either Loop, Buckler, Zone (obviously), Charge, Bomb, Shake, or Ranger. Is this a glitch with the figures? The game (as I have only tested it in Swap Force)? Or is there anything else that can explain this?

On method 5, how are you able to tell he is corrupted? I mean can you tell by looking at this screen? I purchased a bunch of used figures and I want to make sure they are not corrupted before giving them to my nephew as a gift. I have downloaded the GUI and it is working fine.

My easter trigger happy haw been broken for a long time, I tried to use him in giants but after he was scanned in he immediatly went back and became unresponsive from there, there was also a small incident were I dropped him on accident onto the side of a drinking glass but he didn't fall in the water, so is he permanently broken or is there still something I could do

Help! I finaly grabbed a portal and downloaded the GUI tool but i cannot reset any character or creation crystal. Plus, on the GUI page, bottom right corner of the screen says options. It only shows autoread and autosave. It doesnt show reser crystal as a 3rd option like your video. Any advice?

@BoomBringer still not working. GUI doesn't show any stats or info when a figure is placed on the portal. It just shows the name and figure read. Weird. I re-downloaded gui again v 4.2. Still no reset crystal option either. I'm using a supercharger portal. Pretty sure it's not xbox one. Doesn't say xbox on the bottom of it.

@@BoomBringer sorry, I wasn’t clear. It’s not that it won’t reset a figure/crystal/trap…it’s that I don’t get the (Reset Broken Toys) button. If I don’t get the button, I can’t reset anything. I may have to resort to setting up a Windows computer to try the Skylander GUI.

The first option for Giants on the Wii, it doesn’t give me the option you get on the video instead it gives me the option to change the difficulty of the game.

make sure to load into the game with the figure on the portal and get the error message, then open the pause menu (make sure to keep the toy on the portal) and go back to the main menu and go to settings, it should be there. Also make sure its giants on wii and not the wii u version.

Do the portals eventually stop working? I managed to do the original 32 heroic challenges as Wham Shell and I went to go play Giants to take a break from SSA, and the game started telling me something is wrong with the figure, as well as some other figures that I barely use. I changed what portal I was using and the figures worked like nothing had happened.

I have a corrupt shroomboom and I tried the giants method and when I went to see if it worked the screen was just black. I tried the swap force method and the shroomboom didn’t even show up when I put it on the portal. Then I tried the pc method but I don’t think I have the right equipment for it. You probably don't have the right portal, check on the bottom of the portal. If it says traptanium portal for Xbox 360 it should work, if it only says traptanium portal then it's a portal for wii and playstation

The chip is completely broken? If the portal isn't reading the skylander and gives no error screens or summons, then it's just completely dead and needs to be replaced.

Correct imaginators is made by Toys for Bob , but it still uses the VV engine since imaginators was built off of Superchargers
