This is my exact issue on the CT-615C that I had as a kid. I have it now and want my son to use it going forward as it works. I'm going to see if i can open it up and do what you did, but maybe i'll just be ghetto and tape it up instead of soldering.

Mine just died on my yamaha djx was starting to cut out now its not working at all the plug was working in other keyboard so it's obviously the connection but iv no way of fixing it I'm hoping maybe the ribbon cable has popped out or something but iv not opened it up yet as I don't wanna make it worse ..maybe I should just use batteries until I find someone who knows how to do it for me...iv got other keyboards and synths but this one is the one I use most

You were lucky there. I couldn't quite make out the diagram on the Original Casio PSU. I Note from experience that the Casio PSU is Centre Negative -ve So people beware, as most general purpose types would be Centre Positive +ve by default, although some of them may have a polarity switch, or a reversible head, to switch the polarity around. These Psu plugs can be tricky, as some may often have the same outer diameter size, and appear to fit into the socket, whereas the centre tube, "Connection" may not be making a good connection as they are of very slightly different sizes.

Maybe you could fix the beeping smoke alarm before fixing the Casio keyboard on youtube?

Could cut the audio out from isolated beeping points and record some room noise to fill the gap

I heard that, too. Glad someone else commented before I did.

Garth, thanks for this video. I have a CTK 500. This keyboard has some great presets. It also has a feature I would like to bypass... an automatic shut off that shuts the unit down after about 2 minutes if you don't hit a key or play on the keyboard. This happens regardless of whether the unit is running on batteries or it's AC power supply. I tried to keep it from shutting off by laying something on the keys and then turning the volume completely down, having it on an organ preset. The unit still shuts off, which means it even sense when the unit is not actually being played. I prefer to keep a preset on and ready so when I want to use the keyboard later in a performance, I don't have to power it on and hit the presets I want. Any ideas on how to bypass the automatic shutoff?

OMG!!!! Just solder in a well ventilated space....I have never seen somebody worry so much about fumes. And when de soldering drop a little new solder on connections and then suck up with wick.....Way easier than butchering it with unnecessary heat on board. Or just use a solder sucker.

What kind of jack is it that you are using?

Yeah, I need to get one

I think putting a separate jack off the case.....it is just going to break again.
@myvid2224 жыл бұрын
The problem was that the jack was loose, so could you not just fixed it by fixing the solder, as the jack just serves to transfer electricity.
