Oh my goodness thank you for your help. So 5 seconds did it 🎉😅 thank you so much it happened my battery did a reset 2:18 yes when my battery completely went dead it was a wire on the bottom of the battery whew

I had a 2017 Toyota GT86 6 speed manual and an RSX type S my favorite car that I've ever owned was 06 Scion tC 5 speed manual I freaking loved that car funnest daily driver I've ever had I wish I could find a manual one I miss that car and prefer it over any of the other cars I've had

Toyota always had sunroof issues since the 90s. They either leak or stop working. Acura are probably the only cars I never have issues with the sunroofs.

I used WD-40 n a rag to clean the tracs i got bro n it worked great

The switch could be bad, causing no response when pushing it. Mine is intermittent, no problems opening once the switch makes contact (I'm ordering a new switch, which is the whole upper console). I'll let you know if it works.

Usually the switch going bad comes with its own module that you could find . But if it doesn’t respond at all definitely might need to look into a new motor , especially if all else doesn’t work for you .

Hey @Lou3JLM86 SO.. my 2009 tC's sunroof is only lifting up on one side, so it won't slide open. The motor is working. We've had a lot of rain lately, so I was thinking that might be the issue but can you think of any reason why only one side is lifting and any troubleshooting ideas besides cleaning the tracks?

What is a "Battery pack" Like a group/pack of 9 volts? I know car battery have 6 cells which each have 2.1 volts. But a "Battery pack?" How many batteries do you have?

I barely use my sun roof with that being said will they still malfunction regardless?

Hey man sorry for the late reply. Yes they still would. Dirt and grime still builds up in it without being used . So its still a good idea to maintenance it. Every 2 weeks but checking on it every week is worth it too. I recommend it , its what I do to keep it functioning. 👌🏽

Could be that whole switch area setup . Might want to look into that, being that is the main contact point for the motor 🙏🏼

Most likely, cause when thing goes bad its always smarter to get the whole assembly fixed

Got an 08 and it will open fine but when I close it and it’s just about to close it goes back and I don’t see anything blocking it .

Have you tried calibrating the sunroof? Usually that helps . Its what I do when it start’s to bug out . Other than that mine does that same thing . You have to tap it slowly to close it that works 👌🏽

I'm having a problem with my sunroof in my scion. The driver side is fine and opens normally but the passenger side doesn't open and when I press the open button it looks like the plastic piece of the motor that moves out is popping out of the track and it pushes my headliner down. it doesn't fully close when I try it and I kinda have to press it down with my hand. Does anyone have any suggestion?

​@@fcolon1976I wasn't able to fix it yet💀...my motor works just fine...I'm gonna be buying a whole new sunroof anyway and just replace the whole thing...I don't have any experience working with sunroof but the track might be broken

Ok so is there a way to reset it after it’s already open? I messed up and it’s stuck open 😅 before I disconnected the battery it would close with a hand assist lol now its just all the way open and im gonna shed some man tears

It should still be able to close .. try holding the button down till it moves . It happened to me before I just kept pressing it till it moved

@@Lou3JLM86 cleaned the rails and yes, that is exactly what worked. Not only am I a spazz because i literally paid no attention to that last sentence in the manual.. but I was driving somewhere, it was supposed to rain within the next hour and I just held the close button coming up to a stop sign just trolling myself because I didn’t think it would do anything and it closed while I sat at the stop sign (about 30 seconds or so) 😂😂😭😭😭😭

It happens to the best of us lol at least now you know what to do if it happens again lol🙏🏼 its closed now thats what matters, not just calibrate it and it shouldn’t have any issues
