Thank you for this! Had the same codes and changed out the solenoids. Turned out the one from the side of bank2 was completely rusted and even snapped in half when I was removing it, glad I was still able to get it out! Keep up the good work

Yeah mine too it was on the side because ones on the top are clean and dry and the ones on the side are kind a in the whole that probably holds a water when it rains so they get rust on it! Thank you brother im glad this helped you out! Thanks!

Okay, I replaced exhaust solenoids on my car, same issue but this video is a bit misleading. What causes these solenoids to rust is the water that does not evaporate from their wells because of the sand and dust from the road that sits inside that rather deep well. So if you just pull the solenoid out first is part of this stuff falls into the timing valve system and the other part is that all this stuff will not let you put the new solenoid back all the way down. I guess this abrasive can cause major damage to the timing valve mechanism. I spent half a day disassembling everything to first blow away the abrasive from the well, then soak the rest of it in lubricant, then after pulling it out took the rest of the stuff out by sticking it to the chewing gum. Then, when it’s all clean you can slide the new solenoid in. The message is that be careful with all these things, this is how you can kill your engine.

Agree. The area you are working in has to be sterile clean. Too many ‘It’s easy!’ videos to catch out the unwary.

What’s codes did you get I’m getting dont exceed 6000 rpm sometimes no EPC light. my code is P34100 any ideas same car as yours

do you think this applies to the S5 as well? i get the epc do not exceed 4k rpm only on SOME accelerations idk what triggers it but usually if i do a decent pull or pass someone on the highway it comes on and is gone when i restart the car...ive only lost power once

Yes I got it fixed at a shop. Was the oil switch on the back of the engine! Hope that helps.

I should add that there are two oil pressure switches. One by the oil filter housing and the one on the back of the motor.

Not sure about a b9 as mines a b8.5 so it’s prob different. But it was like $470 almost exactly I think.

Yep it was solenoid Bank 2 on mine , you got 2 on each side its best to change all 4 usually its ones on the side because they are kind a in the hole and probably holds water when you drive it on the rain so they were all rusted but yeah no more lights coming on

Happens on my dad's RS5 B8.5. However, on the video, on the second start up, the error does not show, and the same happens with my dad's car. I belive its because oil got some time to run through the system or something, because it only happens on the first start up of the day and if you move that car before idle goes down. Will try this solution tho.
