How To Fix Frozen Screen On Android Head Unit

My android head unit screen is 80% untouchable, I can only drag down the drop down menu from the top and that’s it. The rest of the area is not touchable. No response at all. Watch and learn how to fix it easily.

My touch screen didn’t work for over a year. I was about to but a new unit. I decided to do a search before a bought a new unit. I stuck a pin in reset button. It works perfect now. Thanks for sharing.

If you have USB you can use a generic mouse to navigate the screen. I've tried the reset and it doesn't do anything but restart. I've also tried the place five fingers on the screen for several seconds and it is supposed to go into like a recalibrate process. I used a mouse and did a factory settings, still only the very top of the screen will respond. Nothing under display menu to adjust touch.

I did experience this twice and reset/reboot it. The point is need to find out why it suddenly freezed and went to black screen. We need to prevent it happen again. I think the manufacture need to update its software to fix this problem. Fix the orgin of the problem not just keep reset/reboot it every time.

For this non branded type of android head units, I doubt the manufacturer will release any updates for it. That’s because they release new models almost every few months. If you want better after sales support, go for branded ones.

if yours is 1 or 2GB running on Android 9 or later then it may run hot and freeze up, try to mount a fan behind the unit like those cpu fan to help dissipate the heat.

Another way of resetting it by unplugging the power to the head unit. But you need to get to the power cable behind this head unit

probably you don't have window tint and it's probably sitting out there cooking in the Sun and then you turn it on and your finger touching the screen doesn't register it because the sun's been cooking the screen all day long you trying to get some window tint
