Saved my life! Too hot to cook inside and I can't buy a new grill now. I'm not a great tool person but your video explained each step so well! I tried the battery change and the q-tip clean, it still didn't work. So I took the box out and checked the connections, wiggled them, pushed them in, put box back in place, tried igniter again and it worked! LOL! Thank you soooo much!
@catvaganay32372 жыл бұрын
The pulse igniter cannot be dislodged. There is a metal plate behind it that makes impossible for it to be pushed out, unplugged and replaced.

Wow. Thank you a million times over. 1 minute and 35 seconds into your video solved a problem we’ve been researching and stessing over for days now. You just saved us a bunch of money and agitation. Who knew a quick change of a little battery would do the trick. Call me ignorant for overlooking this in the manual but I also didn’t find one other video that suggested this fix prior to yours. Hallelujah and Amen!

Thanks for your Video. I knew about the battery and had replaced it to no avail. There was corrosion on it so I had already tried your Q-Tip suggestion at 2:30 unsuccessfully. However had not considered your sand paper idea. I used a bamboo skewer for sturdiness with sandpaper taped on and it work like a charm, like brand new. Saved me lots of disassembly time and effort to get and replace the igniter.

Unbelievable......I just fixed my 15 year old Kenmore bar b que ignitor with a 1 dollar alkaline battery replacement. Should be against the law not to put a disclaimer on the front panel that says...replace battery by twisting off if ignitor does not work. Thanks for the info....saved me from buying a new grill. Glad I can keep my old one since it has served me many years without any prior problems. Best Kenmore product I ever bought.

I bought a new gas grill yesterday, brought it home and the ignition wouldn't work. I was SO disappointed and annoyed. (We don't have a truck so taking this one back and bringing home new one was going to be a major hassle). I watched the first two minutes of your video, unscrewed the battery, put a new one in, and the ignition works!!! Either the battery was shot, or they had installed it upside down. THank you for the help! You saved me hours of hassle (and will let us grill Father's Day dinner at home!).

Thanks for reminder that there's a battery in there. I changed the battery, but no joy. Pulled the ignitor unit which has 4 wires. One of them seemed semi-detached so I pushed them all in and that did the trick. Old battery was reading 1.5v so maybe it wasn't dead yet and it was only due to bad wire connection, but now I don't have to worry about it for a few more years.

I have a uniflane 300 and something dollar grill that I bought back in 2009 and have not used it for over 4 years because it was covered and stored away and then I started using a charcoal grill well I miss the convenience of a gas grill. Long story short, I finally brought my gas grill out of retirement and inspected it to find out exactly what I may or may not need. All the parts that I needed or should I say and wanted to replace I had either just started to replace before it retired or I knew that I needed new stuff but didn't want to worry with it. I know it's only a 300 and something dollar grill but I was looking at some grills compared to the one that I actually have and they're $500 plus for something comparable. I then proceeded to go online using Amazon to find replacement parts. I had found everything I needed on Amazon This includes, new gas burners new gas ceramic igniters new gas flare shields in stainless steel new stainless steel grates heavy duty and when I ordered all of that stuff I installed it and no spark so I figured let's check the battery since how it's been in there so long. The battery had leaked so I figured the actual spark control unit sort of speak was bad. I ordered another one and installed it and voila I have spark now. I even ordered a new cover and used barbecue high temp paint too restore the look of my grill and it looks phenomenal. Well last night I was thinking about cooking on my barbecue grill but I did not think about testing out the flames first which leads me to my point. I found out the regulator was bad so I went to Lowe's and bought a Char-Broil regulator it was $24.99 plus tax and came home, installed it and she is alive again beautiful blue flames and it just brought back memories. When people watch this video he gives helpful tips on how to change out your hose and regulator which my regulator was bad and it was very easy to figure out because it has a pinhole on the side of the regulator that regulates the pressure and if the pressure is messed up in some way because of maybe the diaphragm inside the regulator which in my case was bad it was pouring propane out of that little bleed valve and I can smell it so strong and I could feel the air coming out. Just a little tip to also help know if your regulator is bad for anybody who is reading this very long comment. My total for everything in replacement was around $100 which was only a fraction of what a new one would cost compared to my old grill. Thank you for taking the time to Read this. God bless you all and happy grilling.❤

Before replacing the igniter in a Nexgrill, check if the push button on the igniter on the control panel is worn and preventing the new battery from making proper contact. Easy to check and $5 to replace yourself. I did and saved disassembling the side panels and face plate to replace the entire igniter.

Could you show us how to replace a Burner valve (where the knob turns)?
@davidreynolds46843 жыл бұрын
Fwi that button/cap is 8.00 on amazon. See the tear in the rubber on his? Its torn. Ill bet you his is full of water.the water seeps into the battery area and gets into the circuitboard that is encapsulated in the bottom of the igniter. Once it gets in there its not coming out without cutting it open. If you find yourself needing a button/cap lemme know you can buy the extra one i have cheaper than amazon.

Never pull on the wires people. Pull from the plastic terminal insulaters. The terminals on the switch are tiny. Youll play hell finding terminal connectors that small if you screw one upfrom tughing on the wires.

How common is it for a new grill for the igniter not to work?
@doraexplora90468 ай бұрын
Just buy/get a piece of S/S channel off cut from your local metal supply shop. Cut it to length. Remove all the old channel and rusty parts and the fat-soak tray. From the bottom , drill two securing holes into the new metal and pop-rivet the new parts onto the holding rail. However, at this point I would go further, while you're in there, and in the mood, remove the entire burner and flame covers and renew those. Either have them made in 304 S/S or buy the parts. Those tin covers are good for nothing. I would also wire brush the entire gas channel and remove any fat and/or rust from the gas outlets. I replaced ALL my tin parts with S/S and have a full S/S BBQ now. and it's always in the weather, for over 10years!
