I have tried all these methods a few times, but the problem returns. I will receive calls for a few days (I don't receive many calls) , but then suddenly a call will not display answer buttons, nor will it record a miss call. Could it be that some other app is intercepting the call, not intentionally necessarily, but by some programming oversight?

It could be something blocking ur senser on the phone try cleaning it also if u have a screen protector on ur phone it also can be dirty try removing it and see if that's the issue replace screen protector with a new one hope this helps its worth a try

I have this same app (Freetone) and ever since installing it, I've been having malware type malfunctioning. It changes settings on it's own when placing calls. Turns ringer off as well as other setting. When placing a call a notification sound pops up with an immediate return to call option. If I do not black the screen when placing a call it stays on and does a manner of phone manipulations. I'm uninstalling it. Maybe my phone will resolve the issues. Also look under the storage tab and you should find both options (clear cache and data)
