How To Fix Instagram Emoji Reaction Not Working

If instagram is up to date and you are still unable to react with emojis. While in the chat, you have to tap on the person’s name that you are DMing at the top. That will bring up another page and you should be able to see all of the photos and videos you sent. There should be an option to “update messages” tap on it and it will allow you to change the theme and use emojis.

@@JayClarey so here’s an update! They (instagram) NEVER responded to the error I reported to them, but I do think that helped…because less than a week later it began working with no explanation. THAT BEING SAID, it bugged out again a week after that… I reported it again, and it began working again, a few days later, with no explanation. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Something else, maybe unrelated: the built-in GIF keyboard on Facebook commenting does not work for me now. It bugged out right when my Instagram fixed itself. Not sure what’s going on with Meta haha.

It worked for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ Cleared cache, uninstalled, installed, logged in, clicked on a message, and then the, "new way to react!" message popped up. Now I can finally laugh at the funny things my friends send me 😂

It also happens on KZbin. I can get the reply reactions in the ig messages but I don't get any emojis when I'm in the comment section. Even while I'm typing this message here I only have access to 7 emojis. I have done all the steps you suggested

Nope. What did work for me, was reporting is by shaking the device to activate the reporting tool. A few weeks later, it was fixed.

Dude honestly unloading the app method is perfectly worked for me for real but just wait for 4-5 seconds in instagram you will get a pop up of updating automatically
