So we tried an experiment. Will working iPhone X top board alone Intel version A1901 boot on iOS11.4--ANSWER = NO, it is 60mA steady iTunes detects in recovery mode. Next we tried same with iPhone X top board Qualcomm version A1865--ANSWER = NO, it is short boot loop like baseband or tristar fault. Can you tell us what version iPhone X top board booted in this video? Was is one that is on iOS12beta 1 and ignores baseband?

We use Qualcomm version in this video. For version before iOS11.4, it can boot normally only with the top board. For version after iOS11.4(included), it need to verify the baseband and therefore stuck in boot loop.

Hi, I have a consideration to do: at 3:55 minutes you have unsoldered the usb chip and that's fine, then at 4:20 minutes do the first step for cleaning the pads and they are all still there and okay, then at min 4:24 do the second step for the cleaning the pads, not good, and you have lost the pad in the 2x2 position from the top left.Finally at 4:38 minutes when you clean the pads with the solvent you can clearly see that you have lost the pad in the 2x2 position from the top left . So gentlemen, be careful to use copper gauze to remove excess tin from the pads because there is a risk of detaching them. Good job everyone.

Andy Perez Whatever you do do not go to Apple all they will do is replace your phone if it’s under warranty. If your data hasn’t been backed up just go to a third party repairsmen.

you reballing stencil is very low quality. as soon as you heat it it bends. did you manage to reball the board with one try? i had the same bad stencils and i replaced them with thick ones. reballing of large chips such as broadband cpu was a nightmare.

It seems different repair techs have their own thoughts and habits. We finished the reballing with one try and our repair tech think the tin is easy to be stick on the stencil with the thick one.

The top layer that was used to verify the boot sequence holds the CPU IC, NAND FLASH IC and Power IC along with the USB IC. In order for the iPhone to boot it will not need else than that, the bottom layer is mainly for all the additional features, cellular, wifi, it holds the Baseband IC also, which in the previous models the phone would not boot without the baseband IC, but on the iPhone 8/X it doesn't require the presence of the baseband IC to boot properly

There's no standard, like I said the bottom half is mainly centered around the Baseband(CELLULAR), which on the iPhone 8/X isn't required for a proper boot, I've successfully booted a dozen of iPhone X with only the top layer and so has REWA so instead of contradicting perhaps assume you're in the wrong, there's logic behind what I said, there's no logic behind what you're saying.
