Be careful with this fix as disabling the HDD can have downsides, you may lose your address book, large print jobs (over 50 pages) may fail and user box functions will be gone.

I had issues installing firmware. And ever since the C554 machine has not be able to go to service mode so that I can continue and complete the firmware installation. If I connect the flash drive to continue the installation, the boot screen only stops at the three pillar sign but if i remove the flashdrive and ON the machine, it only boots and stop at the three pillar sign on the screen it doesn't go beyond that stage. Please can you help me with solution? Thank you sir

Yes Brother I think you have replaced the hard drive recently and that hard drive is not compatible with that C554 model. you have to install the same model and size hard drive which you have replaced. that's the reason it's stuck on the firmware installation.

This is because of the Fusing unit Heat Up. Option 1-Check Fusing temperature sensor. (center of the heating side) Option 2-Check the fusing unit for correct installation (whether it is secured in position). Option 3-Check the open/close operation of the right door. Option 4-Replace the fusing unit

You wont be able to scan. Only copy and print.

If you disable the hard drive you will not able to Scan big files same time. after Replacing your HDD you can again enable the (installed) HDD option.

Will not be able to scan files bigger than 2mb since that is the available memory without the HDD. also big files with pictures and color will not be printed from a computer.
