My first year of 3d printing i used a dermal. My 2nd year of 3d printing i moved to a Micro Sander that moves side to side. this was useful. did corners better. and can fit in little slots to clean out the edges Proxxon 28594 Pen Sander might want to check it out. P.S. if you going to use a dermal make sure you keep it very low RPM and a light touch or your going to heat up the plastic and melt it.

Very informative and yes, it sounds and looks like a electric tooth brush. I made the same thing with my old electric toothbrush. Just Velcro and hook and loop sand paper (cut to fit). By the way, I don't know if your looking at cue cards or a monitor to your right but you need to look straight into the camera when filming because it's kind of distracting. Subscribed to learn more!! Thank you.

Hi, you thought exactly the same thing as me when you saw this "Mr Polisher" and I will most certainly go in the same direction as you by reusing an old electric toothbrush and modifying the head to put paper pellets in it of glass with velcro, I also think that it is nothing more than that in the end and that it is sold as being a "tool" for 3D printing when they are only electric toothbrushes that have been diverted from their original function 😉

For me some of the best tools to remove layers: - Card scraper (using hard metal sheet edge) is fastest but mostly limited to larger convex shapes. - Sanding using 60 grit (sand paper or pads) is my main tool usually using a Dremel on low RPM or a drill, sometimes with some water for cooling. May not work for models with fine details. - Hot air at 190‒200°C for PLA / 280°C for TPU works also really well to even reach a shine but it's harder to master (too long and you reveal the infill or disform the part, too few and you do nothing at all).

nice device, but you can also just buy a multi-tool. In my opinion is a better option with more possibilities to sand 3d projects.

I'm kind of confused by something. You begin the video by telling us how great this tool is, but then 5 minutes into the video you're only just taking the tool out of the box and putting the batteries in? How did you know the tool was effective if you hadn't even taken it out of the box yet? 🤔

You get better results using a rotary tool. The motor on those cheap hand tools won't last for long, plus you have to have extra batteries. A rotary tool comes with hundreds of attachments and it also comes with variable speeds. I got one for $25 on harbor freight 5 years ago, and still works like new!

Thank you for sharing valuable tools and links. Another way for those users who want to get a smooth surface with FDM printing is that: we can try PVB filament, and be polished by alcohol and become a solid and smooth surface.

Ever heard of a rotary drill like a Dremel? I have a rotary tool that purchased three years ago for under $25 and I can still purchase the bits for it and there's hundreds to choose from for all kinds of jobs. Good luck trying to find the replacement sanding pads for your Mr. Polisher a few years down the line.
