I haven't come across a gang box broken like that, but I didn't know about Box Doctors or G-Clips. Nice to have that tip in the arsenal if I ever come across that issue. 👍

I am far from a pro so maybe ya’ll will take my comments with a grain of salt. My first inclination is to forget about the other options and just replace the box. I like the second old work box that you showed and agree that the first might not work as well for receptacles (although I might use them with a receptacle where an appliance will remain plugged in and the receptacle will not have any other use, like a refrigerator or a washing machine) . It seems like to first two options would ware the edge of the box over a short amount of time and the bigger screw option might split the screw hole in the box. Again, you have more experience in this stuff than I do, so you likely know what works well, but a new old work box seems like the most economical option that will last much longer.
