I don't love the design of the new port. With the old, the screws keep it in place and bear the stress of plugging and unplugging. On the new, all of that is transferred to the solder pins, almost guarantees you're doing this job again at some point.

You’re not wrong. Unless you have a donor board, it’s hard to find the original style which I would say most would prefer. With that said, there is a metal clamp that you can get to hold it down
