My chat mixer is grayed, and there is no "mic on" button on mine... the rest of that popup is fine, just those two things. I'm lost.

For the mic button i noticed that if your headset isn't plugged in or like isn't plugged in properly the mic on button isn't there. BUt since the rest popup that's the weird thing. Try going into settings and check your audio. See if your headset mic on thing is on

@ Thx. appreciate it. I've been through alllllll the settings multiple times now, I know I have to be missing something. I've plugged/unplugged multiple times, pushed hard... all the good stuff (wireless, plugged transmitter usb into xbox). I've done the game setting, the privacy and security settings (kids xbox, parental controls). The only setting I'm unable to do is the chatmixer in the Xbox quicksetting and the mic on/off that does not exist).

Please help I have a xbox series x and just got the captain 560 headset. Everything is linked and i can hear the game and online players. I watched other help videos and turned up the headset volume. You have to go to audio settings select headphones or headphone bass boost, if it’s doesn’t work try to reset completely your audio settings

For everyone who has tried everything and the mic still doesn't work: Try changing the AUX cable to one with three rings. One ring means mono sound, two rings mean stereo sound, and three rings mean stereo sound with a volume input. I hope this help

To check if your mic is working. Start a party chat with just you. You'll see your username appear when you speak & go when you don't speak. Don't forget that, other players may not have enabled cross play chat on their device.

Everyone, shutdown your Xbox, then pull out the power cord, leave it out for about a minute or two. Then plug it all back in and turn it back on. Worked for me
